　　The 2014 Kawasaki Mule 600 is powered by a air-cooled, 4-stroke, 401cc engine, placing it in the midsize displacement class (400cc - 600cc class). The 8.3:1 compression ratio is 17% lower than the average utility Side by Side. A higher compression ratio is desirable because it means an engine can do the same amount of work with less fuel, leading to increased efficiency and power for a given engine size; high compression ratios are indicative of high performance.
