The Aprilia ETV 1000 Caponord was a powerful adventure motorcycle that debuted in 2001. It was capable of tackling paved and unpaved roads and was part of the same family as the Aprilia RST 1000 Futura and RSV Mille.
In 2012, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Aprilia ETV 1000 Caponord, an adventure motorcycle that packed the same technical, visual, and performance specifications as the previous model, without any significant modifications.
The bike was fitted with standard features in the visual department, such as a half fairing with a large headlight unit, a medium-sized windscreen, hand guards, a two-piece dual seat with passenger grab handles, a high-mounted exhaust system, an engine cover, and wire-spoke wheels.
The suspension system comprised a 50 mm Marzocchi telescopic fork with 175 mm of travel and an aluminum alloy swingarm with an adjustable Sachs shock absorber on the rear, providing optimum suspension performance and handling.
As for braking, the bike packed two 300 mm brake discs on the front wheel and a 270 mm brake disc on the rear wheel. The front discs were engaged by four-piston calipers, while the rear disc was controlled by a dual-piston caliper.
In the performance department, the 2012 Aprilia ETV Caponord had its heartbeat set by a 998 cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine mounted underneath its fuel tank, delivering an output power of 98 hp with a peak force at 8,250 rpm and 97 Nm (72 lb-ft) torque at 6,250 rpm.
