The Aprilia RXV was a family of four-stroke V-twin off-road motorcycles made by Aprilia from 2006. The bike was available in 450 and 550cc versions. Alongside the RXV, the maker released the SXV series, a dual sport supermoto bike also available in two displacements.
In 2008, the Italian motorcycle maker launched the Aprilia RXV 450, the sister model of the 550cc version. Compared to the larger 550cc model, the 450cc version had lower performance specifications.
The bike benefited from several mechanical improvements that enhanced its performance capabilities, including new piston profiles, new piston rings, a new Electronic Control Unit (ECU) mapping, a new gear ratio for the starter, and extended service intervals.
Visually, the bike packed standard fittings, such as a high-mounted front fender, a small headlight integrated into a tiny cowl, a single seat, a high-mounted exhaust system, a dual-sided aluminum swingarm, an engine plate, and wire-spoke wheels with off-road tires.
Suspension-wise, the motorcycle packed a 45 mm upside-down telescopic fork on the front and an adjustable rear shock absorber like on the RXV 550 version, delivering excellent handling capabilities.
In the performance department, the 2008 Aprilia RXV 450 was powered by a 449cc four-stroke V-twin liquid-cooled engine mounted at its core, boasting 60 hp at 13,000 rpm and 54 Nm (40 lb-ft) torque at 11,000 rpm.
