In 2010, the Italian motorcycle maker released the Aprilia SX 125, a small displacement entry-level motorcycle in its third consecutive production year. The bike was suitable for young riders but also for the more seasoned ones alike.
The Aprilia SX 125 was a supermoto motorcycle made by Aprilia starting in 2008. The bike was destined for young sports riders and incorporated many features that contributed to the tremendous success of the RSV and SXV models.
Also, Aprilia was the first bike maker to introduce dramatic innovations to the design of enduro and motard motorcycles. The SX and RX share a clear Aprilia family look inspired by their bigger sisters, establishing a whole new trend in off-road design.
Aesthetically, the motorcycle was fitted with standard features, like a high-mounted front fender, a one-piece dual seat, a high-mounted exhaust system, a dual-sided swingarm, a side stand, and wire-spoke wheels with aluminum rims and road tires.
In the suspension department, it packed a 40 mm upside-down telescopic fork on the front with 260 mm of travel and a hydraulic monoshock on the rear with 270 mm of travel, offering excellent suspension performance and handling.
The braking power was handled by a 260 mm brake disc on the front and a 220 mm brake disc on the rear. A two-piston caliper dealt with the front wheel, while a single-piston caliper controlled the rear wheel.
Power-wise, the 2010 Aprilia SX 125 had its heartbeat set by a 124cc two-stroke single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that delivered an output power of 22 hp and 16 Nm (12 lb-ft) torque.
