The Aprilia SX 50 was a supermotard machine made by Aprilia since 2006 alongside the RX 50 model. The bike was powered by a single-cylinder, two-stroke engine made by Derbi/Piaggio.
The Aprilia SX 50 motorcycle was the revised successor of the Aprilia RX 50 manufactured in 1992. The bike's layout and panels were closely based on the larger displacement Aprilia RXV and SXV models.
In 2010, the Italian bike maker released the Aprilia SX 50, an entry-level motorcycle powered by a small but powerful engine. The bike best suited the youngest among Aprilias fans but also the least experienced ones.
The 2010 motorcycle came in the same shape and form as the previous model, featuring the same technical, visual, and performance specifications as the last model without any modifications whatsoever.
Aesthetically, the motorcycle had standard fittings, such as a high-mounted front fender, a small cowl with a single headlight, a one-piece dual seat, a dual-sided swingarm, a high-mounted exhaust system, and wire-spoke wheels with black rims and road-tires.
As for power, the 2010 Aprilia SX 50 took its power from a 49cc two-stroke single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine fed by a Dell'Orto carburetor. It was set in motion by a six-speed manual transmission with a wet multi-plate clutch.
For stopping power, the bike's wheels were fitted with a 260 mm stainless steel disc engaged by a floating caliper and one 180 mm brake disc tied to a floating caliper on the rear, offering optimum stopping power.
