In 2018 the Triump Speed Twin set the standards of how a modern classic should ride and feel. In 2021 Triumph launched a new model as an upgraded version of the 2019 variant.
The 2021 bike brings a bunch of changes in power and performance, but also in handling and style. One of the changes was made to the 1,200cc twin engine.
Now the Speed Twin has 98.6 Hp (73.6 kW) at 7,250 rpm, almost three hp more than the previous model, and 112 Nm at 4,250 rpm, at 500 rpm lower than the previous generation. The bike maker obtained a 17% reduction in inertia by adding a lightweight crankshaft and alternator. This allows the engine to spin much faster and sets a new red line 500 rpm higher than the 2019 model.
The 2021 model updated the suspension for a more comfortable ride. An upside-down 43 mm Marzocchi front fork with cartridge damping should do the job.
As a standard option, the 2021 model is fitted with ABS, cast aluminum 17 inches wheels on the front and back with a 12-spoke design and the new Metzeler Racetec RR tires that ensure grip and stability. While on the move, to adapt to any riding conditions, the three riding modes can be easily changed by a touch of a button.
In the second half of 2022, the new Triumph Speed Twin has an average price between $11,000-$12,500 as a used motorcycle.
