Since the 2000's VW has built a trendy, good quality, and practical Passat. The 2015 Volkswagen Passat Variant debuted with a new design that combines stylish clarity with a high level of impressive power, both reflected on the interior and exterior.
On the exterior, VW offers the Passat a wide variety of extremely precisely drawn edges and creases, which develop individual light-reflecting surfaces that can also be found on the Octavia III. The exclusive image of the new Passat was achieved in part with the radiator grille, designed to be significantly larger than the headlights.
All three equipment versions (Trendline, Comfortline, Highline) are upgraded by four chrome bars. On the sides, these bars bend inward towards the headlights in a trapezoid shape. The lowermost chrome bar of the grille is continued into the headlights.
Above the grille and the headlights another chrome accent extends across the entire width of the front end, and it is continued laterally in the character line (from Highline). Volkswagen developed an entirely new lighting design for the eighth-generation Passat. The car is being offered with halogen and LED headlights.
Inside, the designers placed special value on a driver-oriented design and a very spacious feeling of the front interior area. There's also the option of ambient lighting similar to that found in the Phaeton. The cabin is a pleasant place to spend time in.
Therefore, starting from the driver's seating position, the dashboard builds upwards in the space to the two sides of the instruments, inclined slightly towards the windscreen. This creates a spacious feeling as well as an ideal ergonomic landscape.
When buying an estate car, one of the reasons for doing that it is the practicality. The Passat has tons of that for a vehicle of its size. The trunk is spacious, offering 650 liters with the seats up, bigger than any of the models of its class, including the Ford Mondeo.
VW has also improved the seating, giving better lumbar and side support offering a good driving position. There's more than enough adjustment on the front seats and the steering wheels. There is plenty of interior space for four adults.
In terms of performance, the VW Passat has some good points also. The transmission is smooth and powers through the gears with ease, thanks to its new generation DSG gearbox. The new generation 1.8 TSI offers enough power and a very good fuel consumption.
The turbocharged gasoline engine has 180 horsepower with a city fuel economy - of 7.1 l/100km and fuel consumption on the highway - of 5 l/100km. The fuel tank capacity is 66 liters or 17.44 gallons, which means you'll be able to drive up to 1,320 kilometers (820 miles) without refueling on the highway. According to reviews, Volkswagen Passat 1.8 TSI real fuel consumption is around 7.6 liters per 100 km.
The Passat Variant, it's great for families that enjoy driving holidays and longer trips. It is quiet and comfortable, and definitely worth the money.
