If you’re a fan of 1990s Volvos and meth, has the car for you. Okay, maybe it’s fake meth. Anyway, listed for sale Gus Fring’s very own screen-used Volvo V70 Wagon. If that name sounds familiar, it’s because Gustavo “Gus” Fring is the successful restaurateur and drug kingpin in both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.

If you’re not familiar with either show, you might think a ‘90s Volvo wagon is a strange choice for a drug lord — but it’s actually perfect. The V70 fits in perfectly with Fring’s unassuming personality.

According to the auction listing, this V70 (in GLT trim, no less) was gifted to the actor who played Fring — Giancarlo Esposito — after production wrapped on Breaking Bad. Of course, the car also makes an appearance in that show’s spinoff, Better Call Saul.

This V70 isn’t necessarily anything to write home about, but with the history behind it and the fact it’s pretty minty, it’s all very cool.

It’s a spectacular dark blue-over-tan Swedish box. It’s even got some nifty six-spoke wheels. That being said, there are some dings and dents that you’d expect with a car that’s 23 years old. It’s the same story on the inside. It’s reasonably clean, but there are some signs of age. It’s nothing too surprising, honestly.

There’s really only one oddity with the listing. It says this Volvo is fitted with a 2.3-liter 5-cylinder engine. HOWEVER — and this is super nerdy — the U.S. Volvo V70 GLT came with a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine. According to, it produced 190 horsepower and 199 lb-ft of torque. Despite the peppy power plant, it’s still fitted to a very-90s slushbox automatic.

None of that really matters. No one is buying this car because of the engine. They are buying it because it’s the car Gus Fring drove, and it’s badass.

You know what you must do. Go to Mecum’s Harrisburg Auction July 27-30th and make Walter White proud.

Today's Firebird features custom bodywork named a 'Kamm-tail' after the German aerodynamicist and auto designer who first proposed the turbulence-reducing shape, Wunibald Kamm. You'll need to decide if this Kammback's price will keep buyers coming back. Not coming back but in the back, that's where yesterday's keeps its motor. In...

The SRT Viper TA Is Absolutely Bonkers To Drive On A Track
The Viper is, let's face it, a cartoon. Everything about it exaggerates reality — the hood is longer, the rear is stubbier, the curves are curvier, the engine is an insane 8.4L brute. If modern supercars were sandwiches, the Viper would be corned shark on rye topped with live scorpions....

For $3,500, Don’t Be Lone
Last Summer’s Lone Ranger movie may have been box office bowel antics, but that doesn’t mean today’s Ford Ranger needs to be. It’s rocking a Turbo Pinto mill, but will the Ranger's price have you shouting hi-ho silver? You weren’t horsing around when 63% of you gave yesterday’s a pass....

Forza 5 Is Car Porn That Teaches You How To Drive
If racing games have served any didactic purpose, that purpose has been to teach Americans about obscure variations of Japanese wagons (ahem Nissan STAGEA 260RS AutechVersion). Forza 5 eschews any claim to breadth in exchange for stunning detail and a desire to teach all you monkeys how to not drive...

Today’s Vanagon is a Weekender whose Subaru motor makes it an extra-mobile home. You need to decide however if its price makes it worth moving in. I think it’s safe to say that, in consideration of all the various possibilities, Tonto was the coolest sidekick, with Dr. Watson coming in...
