Come Hang With The $800 Project Redwood Jeep (And Us) In Denver Tonight [Update: Canceled]
Come Hang With The $800 Project Redwood Jeep (And Us) In Denver Tonight [Update: Canceled]-April 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:13:34

David Tracy’s survived the 1,700 mile drive from Detroit to Moab and even a day of light off-roading. Now it’s time for us to head back to Michigan, and we’re planning to make Denver by tonight. If you’re in town, come say hey.

The Jeep is loaded and we’re pushing off from Moab any minute, and as it stands the plan is to roll up at (2780 Industrial Ln, Broomfield, CO 80020) at approximately on

This will be an informal, unofficial gathering if any of you do decide to stop by and say hello. We won’t be buying any drinks (sorry, but Jalopnik’s entire editorial budget went into this Jeep. Raph, if you’re reading this, we’re sorry about your paychecks, they’ve been put to good use).

But if you’ve been following and want to see Tracy’s saggy Waggy for yourself, this just might be your chance.

We will probably be tired, but we’ll do our best to regale you with trail tales if you so desire.

Sorry about the late start time and late notice. Plans on this trip have been fluid and uh, let’s just say sometimes that fluid gets vaporized. With that in mind, I can’t completely guarantee we’ll make it on time or at all but we’ll do our best not to let y’all down if you do decide to roll up.

Check the comments here, and for updates as that might be the first spot you’ll see trouble.

Meanwhile, thanks to everyone who’s followed along and helped us make it to Moab. Here’s hoping our ride back east is smooth and safe.

: Sadly, the Vail pass is closed and the Jeep is stuck on the wrong side of it, so this meetup has to be canceled. Another time, we hope!

I Ordered A Carbon-Fiber Roof For My Porsche 996 Turbo And I Might Throw Up A Little
I bought maybe the cheapest Porsche 996 Turbo—that’s right, —on the market a year ago, and I’ve mostly been happily stacking miles on the odometer since then. I have been working on making the car my own with a period-correct set of wheels, some extra carbon trim, and a...

Update: I'm Still Burning Money
When I I’d just picked it up from having Subaru BRZ/Toyota 86 front and rear subframes grafted into its crumbling body. When the car came back to me in May, the clock started ticking. I had until mid-September to get the engine and transmission mounted in the car, clean...

Crappy Jack Stands Can Kill You, But Which Ones Are Safe?
Everyone who has worked on their own car has likely heard approximately one million times that you should and that it’s only safe once that vehicle is resting securely on jack stands. ? Given how relatively simple jack stands are and the fact that they have to do one job...

This Restomod 1956 Hyster Forklift Is Certified Fresh
It’s one thing for you to be forklift certified, but it’s quite another thing for your forklift to be certified badass. Most of the forklifts I’ve used at jobs have been unreliable, smelly monstrosities that have been repaired by . This restomod Hyster is definitely not like that. What’s...
