A yellow Ford Mustang Mach-E GT

has reportedly done some pretty significant slashing to the ’s price. Following in the footsteps of , the automaker is by as much as $5,900 per vehicle. That’s not quite the to some of its vehicles, but it’s still a considerable sum.

According to , Ford will cut prices of some versions of the by up to eight percent, but the real savings will come with the price of the extended-range battery. That unit’s cost is apparently being decreased by about 19 percent. The cuts will be far less significant for the lowest-priced Mach-Es. Those vehicles will only see their MSRP decrease between $600 and $900. Ford will reportedly also be honoring the price cuts for customers who are currently waiting to get their new vehicle. This move comes about five months after by up to $8,300 this year.

The outlet reports that Ford also said it was “significantly” increasing Mach-E production numbers. In 2022, the automaker sold 39,458 Mach-Es in the U.S. That is up from the 27,140 units it sold in 2021. spoke with Marin Gjaja, Ford’s chief customer officer for EVs. He said production is expected to increase from 78,000 vehicles to 130,000 vehicles annually.

On Twitter, Ford’s CEO Jim Farley said that “scaling will shorten customer wait times. And with higher production, we’re reducing costs, which allows us to share these savings with customers.”

Mach-E prices will now reportedly range from about $46,000 to $64,000. prices start between $53,500 and $57,000 without any options.

It is starting to really look as if Tesla’s move to cut prices across the board has sparked a little bit of a price war between EV makers. Let’s hope the trend continues.

Just let me know, if you wanna' go, to that shack outside La Grange. Today's '34 Ford limousine is fine, if you've got the time, and the six figures to get yourself in. A hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm. Yesterday's proved so popular that it might just have been able to...

For $1,200, get fired up over this Nissan Van
It's not often that we have a non-runner here on , but today's Nissan Van is a rare survivor of the crusher apocalypse so even though currently immobile, it's still hot stuff. You know how to get a Kleenex® to dance? Blow a little boogie in it. Yesterday's audacious had...

For $26,500, more Caballista!
Everybody knows Don't Fear the Reaper has got to have more cow bell, but do you think today's limited edition custom Corvette sound better as the Caballista? Les Dunham was a visionary. Few before him had ever even considered putting Eldorado baroque on the truncated platform of the Corvette, and...

Remember back when the big BMWs didn't look like something Chris Bangle shat out? Well, not only is today's 740i not a bowl circler, it's also not an automatic. But does its price mean you don't give a crap? Despite a proclivity for spontaneous combustion that implied a sense of...

For $2,000, this diesel Roadmaster is a real loco-motive
Planes, Trains and Automobiles was hands down a great flick. Contrastingly, today's 6.2 Diesel-converted Roadmaster is kind of plain, sounds like a train, and upon close examination, appears to be an automobile. But is its price all that and a bag of popcorn? Baby got back - Squareback that is...

For $46,900, is plastic fantastic?
Most of us likely owned an affordable plastic Ferrari when we were kids - made by either Revell or Airfix. Today's 308 GTB is plastic, and there's no assembly required. But is its price a model of value? By the early 1980s, emission and fuel economy standards had diminished the...
