This Pontiac Trying to be a Lamborghini Aventador is the Worst Thing You'll See Today
This Pontiac Trying to be a Lamborghini Aventador is the Worst Thing You'll See Today-October 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:09:45

When the was launched in 2011, folks around the world had to applaud the Italian company for crafting a car that could knock out zero to 60 mph in less than three seconds. Since then, it’s been a favorite of exotic car collectors—and even, uh, some who don’t quite have the means to get the real thing.

Which is how we get of the Aventador. It’s as bad as it sounds.

Found on Craigslist for a whopping $22,500, this bad boy is... well, bad—but not in the good way. It was a good try to make something awesome out of a pretty standard car, but, man. It’s hard to turn a GTO into the far-sleeker Lambo, no matter how desperately you try. In this case, we’re talking a Lamborghini inscription under the passenger side airbag and an angled center console that kind of I guess looks sort of like something you’d find in a Lambo.

Other than that, it’s still a 2004 GTO frame/body, which is a far cry from anything you’d call exotic. It’s got all the original drivetrain and electronics, plus a fake mid-engine because the real engine is, as you would imagine, in the front. According to the owner, it “runs and drives great. All power”. I don’t know if I’m quite convinced.

But, hell, if you’re in the market for a different-looking Pontiac, then we’ve got just the thing for you.
