2003 Parts-Bin Ford for $109,500!
2003 Parts-Bin Ford for $109,500!-December 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:10:18

Jag door handles, Volvo air vents, Mondeo window switches. They all add up to something greater than the sum of its parts- or at least a .

Yesterday, a slim 55% of you thought the price of the little was more Vente than Grande, and you caught the ebay VIN-requiring 1980 faux model year. Way to go, Jalopnikids! There's no questioning the validity of the year for today's car, but the asking price will put a pretty big dent in your Starbucks budget. It's name is Martin, , and it's here to leave you both shaken and stirred.

Get ready to get small, and get your Kei car on. There's no need to hit Starbucks today, as Nice…

Driving this 460bhp range-topping will make you pray you so you'll have time to enjoy this hand-built monster. That Pierce Brosnan-leading Bond film was not a high point of the franchise, but it did offer one of the best Bond cars of all time in the Vanquish. Brosnan liked it so much that it became his personal ride, melding fact and fantasy in a fender-bending with a punk-ass L.A. Ferrari driver.

A teenager in a Ferrari goaded actor Pierce Brosnan, behind the wheel of his 2002 Aston Martin…

Pierce had only reached half the Aston's 196mph top speed when his evasive maneuvering proved un-Bond like in that incident. Perhaps he was hamstrung by the recalcitrant 6-speed, flappy paddle transmission- a weak link in the Aston's V12-fronted drivetrain. This transmission received so many complaints from owners (and Jeremy Clarkson) that AM offered a $15,000 Tremec manual retrofit. You may just want to add that to the $109,500 asking price of this '03 Vanquish, should you be a fan of rowing your own. There's nothing that would make you feel the need to replace that marvelous 5,935cc, 48-valve V12, nor its whale breach of an exhaust note. And no, it's not two Duratec V6s welded together.

The seller claims this Aston has only vanquished a total of 4,700 miles, indicating that's it's not even broken in yet. That low an odo may mean that it was owned, if not by a Bond emulator, then perhaps by , who bought it to meet women.

One hundred and nine thousand dollars is a lot of martinis, even more during happy hour! But is that too dear even for the last ever model to be built at the storied Newport Pagnell factory? Another monkey to throw into the wrench is that , a Canadian company, is charging $125,000 for a Mustang-based replica Vanquish- sort of a Timothy Dalton to the real Aston's Sean Connery.

So does the price make you want to Bond with this fast Aston? Or does it scare the Living Daylights out of you?

You decide!

Would You Pay $59,998 For Eddie Van Halen’s 1990 Ferrari 348ts?
Would You Pay $59,998 For Eddie Van Halen’s 1990 Ferrari 348ts?
Today's Ferrari is said to have once been owned by the rock guitar legend Edward Van Halen. You'll need to decide if that provenance, along with some other factors means its price also totally rocks. If it weren't for the fact that he is very much alive, Herbert Hartge would...

For $3,950, Is This 1989 Peugeot 505 Wagon The One?
The seller of today's Peugeot claims it's the "one to have." It is a pretty interesting ride even if you aren't a Francophile, but will its price have you saying Merci or Merde? Disneyland once had this Circle-Vision film called America the Beautiful which showed audiences highlights of the United...

The Best Performance Car For Less Than $30,000
You have a problem. You want a performance car, but you don't have the means to get a Ferrari or even a Corvette Z06... unless you want to live in it too. But don't fret, Mr. or Mrs. Gearhead, because the automakers have plenty of budget choices for you. This...

Would You Pay $4,750 For This 1993 Mercedes Benz 600SEL?
Today's Mercedes is claimed to have at one time been big in Japan. It is in fact big everywhere goes, and since it's here now and for sale, we'll need to decide if its price makes it a big deal. When Mercedes introduced their W140 flagship in 1990 journalists of...

For $12,000, Will This 1988 Porsche 944’s V8 Quell The Haters?
One of the original complaints about Porsche's 924 was that it lacked enough power to properly represent the brand, and the company's answer to that was the 944. Today's 944 wanted even more and so its builder has looked outside the brand, to Chevy. Will this LT1-powered Porsche also power...

For £51,600, This 1998 Hartge Z3 M Coupe Is A 5.0 On The Richter Scale
Americans may have a hard time trying to buy today's 5.0 M-Coupe by Hartge, but that doesn't mean they can't Google an exchange rate and see just how much they should care about what they're missing. Small European car, big American V8. That's a combination that's been winning hearts and...
