It's generally believed that the 2014 BMW X5M will be released late this year, but to hold the fans over they've just dropped the M Performance accessory line that adds a little balls and a lotta bling to the SUV they annoyingly classify as an "SAV."

Carbon fiber is drizzled all over the vehicle in a front splitter, rear diffuser, "aero flaps," caps on the rear-view mirrors, and interior trim pieces. Alcantara steering wheel, 21" steamrollers, and... wait for it... high-gloss black kidney grilles complete the look.

We have fun, but I'm actually a fan of this face-of-vent front end and I think BMW took a page out of my dream journal to make that helm.

An M Performance Power Kit is now available on the 2014 X5 xDrive35i, unlocking an additional 20 hp and 32 ft-lbs. of torque from the 3 liter "TwinPower" turbo inline six. They also promise "sharper throttle calibration for a more direct connection with the accelerator pedal" which sounds like some bullshit to me, but I'll reserve judgement until BMW lends me one (eh, guys?)

BMW will also sell you an M Performance exhaust if you need a little more noise and shinier tips.

The M Performance Brake Kit for the new X5 features six-piston calipers on gigantic 19-inch steel rotors, close to what we saw on the outgoing X5M.

No confirmation on prices yet, I guess BMW wasn't planning on selling any their first day out, but the M Performance power and brake kits are $1,500 and $2,300 on other 2014 models. Since the brakes are bigger on BMW's SUV, I'd expect the bill to be a bit higher.
