The 2014 Toyota Etios Cross was unveiled earlier this year at the Delhi Auto Show, making it the first crossover the automaker has launched on the Indian market.
Although derived from the Etios hatchback, the new Cross is slightly bigger and has a bold front grille, stylish diamond cut alloy wheels, and plastic mouldings that surround its body. The car also comes with a higher suspension, skid plates front and back, roof rails, and dynamic rear cladding with badging.
Inside, youll find things like steering wheel with audio buttons, USB/Aux/Bluetooth compatible sound system, driver and passenger airbags as well as safety systems like ABS and EBD.
The Etios Cross will be available with the same standard 1.5-litre engine found in the hatchback model, delivering 66 kW and 132 Nm. Power will be sent to the front wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox. Fuel consumption is estimated to be just above the claimed 6.0-litre/100 km for the hatchback.
The Etios Cross is said to be priced from R159800. We’ll be driving the 2014 Toyota Etios Cross in the coming weeks. Look out for its driving impression.
