The and dealer ordering guide has come out, revealing a bump in horsepower for both gasoline engines and a higher torque rating for the four-cylinder. Plus, the full list of all possible option combinations.

2015 Chevrolet Colorado/2015 GMC Canyon Official Engine Output Numbers:

2.5L I4, DI, DOHC, VVT: 200 hp [149.0 kW] @ 6300 rpm, 191 lb-ft of torque [259 N-m] @ 4400 rpm

3.6L SIDI DOHC V6 VVT (305 hp [229 kW] @ 6800 rpm, 269 lb-ft of torque [365 N-m] @ 4300 rpm)

2.8L Duramax Diesel: still unconfirmed. Expected approximately 200 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque, release scheduled for 2016.

That's 7 horsepower and 7 lb-ft of torque stronger than the tentative figures we'd seen previously of the four-cylinder's output, and an extra 3 HP for the V6. points out that's the same output as the Pentastar V6 in the Ram 1500.

In both GMs, the smaller engine will be standard on the smaller-sized trucks while the V6 is standard on the Crew Cab and Crew Cab Long Box.

Towing rating has been placed at a monstrous 7,000 pounds with the "trailering package" on the V6, which includes a G80 automatically locking differential AND 3.42 axle ratio. That smokes the closest in-class competitor; the V6 Tacoma, which tops out at 6,500 pounds with a towing package. Four-cylinder Colorados and Canyons will be able to pull 3,500 pounds.

The Z71 Off-Road package on both trucks will be the same as what's in GM's full size lineup: Rancho shocks, hill descent control, and a few extra sheets of "armor" underneath.
