Nissan has given an early preview to its all-new 2015 Nissan Murano Crossover which is scheduled to debut at the 2014 New York International Auto Show.
The 2015 Murano will be powered by a 3.5-litre DOHC V6 engine that produces 194 kW of power and 325 Nm of torque, while mated to an Xtronic transmission. All-wheel drive is available as an option.
The difference in looks from the previous models comes from the front end where the Murano has gained new LED boomerang lights along with Nissans corporate V-motion front fascia and the unique floating roof. The model is further fitted with 20-inch aluminium wheels. You’ll notice many similarities between this and the Nissan Resonance concept we saw not so long ago.
The breakthrough exterior design carries into the interior, which offers a refined lower-height instrument panel, wide centre console, wraparound wood trim and metallic accents, advanced NASA-inspired Zero Gravity front and outboard rear seating, and an oversized Power Panoramic Moonroof.
There’s also a push button ignition, a dual-zone automatic climate control system and an 8-inch multi-touch control and NissanConnectSM with Navigation and Mobile Apps. Options include premium leather upholstery, heated / cooled front seats and a Bose audio system.
Available safety and security systems include Moving Object Detection (MOD), Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Predictive Forward Collision Warning (PFCW) and Forward Emergency Braking. The new Cross Traffic Alert (CTA) system utilizes radar to detect a moving vehicle behind the Murano approaching from either side of the parking space.
The 2015 Nissan Murano will be offered in four grade levels when it goes on sale in late 2014: S, SV, SL and Platinum. Each will be available in front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
