Toyota South Africa has added yet another version of the iconic and best-selling Hilux to the market. To celebrate the company's performance in the hardcore Dakar Rally, the special edition 2015 Toyota Hilux Dakarhas numerous accessories fitted to make it stand out. Toyota did very well in the 2015 Dakar Rally – a T1 Petrol class win and second place overall is impressive. The last special edition Hilux to be unveiled was the Legend 45 and it is this model on which the2015 Toyota Hilux Dakar is based. Interestingly, 50% of Hilux Legend 45 production will be focused on Dakar models for a three month period. Glenn Crompton, Vice President of Marketing had this to say about the new model. “Inspired by the extreme performance of the world’s most grueling motorsport event where toughness is not just a pay-off line, it’s a prerequisite.
