2018 Tesla Model X Price Drop-August 2024
2024-01-19 EST 22:23:37

The 2018 Tesla Model X is a standout midsize luxury crossover SUV that harnesses the power of its electric drivetrain to deliver extraordinary acceleration. This vehicle excels not only in performance but also offers spacious cargo capacity, an eye-catching exterior design, and an impressive driving range, outperforming many other electric vehicles (EVs) in these areas.

Overview: The 2018 Model X competes in the luxury segment as a midsize SUV, capable of accommodating five, six, or seven passengers depending on the chosen configuration. All models are equipped with all-wheel drive and an advanced electric powertrain. For this model year, the lineup was streamlined to three trims: the 75D, 100D, and the high-performance P100D.

Exterior: Characterized by modern aesthetics, the Model X’s exterior boasts fluid lines, a compact nose, and a unique sloping roofline. Pronounced fenders and sleek character lines accentuate the side panels, contributing to a dynamic overall appearance.

Interior: Inside the Model X, one finds a minimalist yet futuristic cabin layout with a central touchscreen console angled towards the driver. This large screen, free from buttons and knobs, serves as the command center for accessing a suite of cutting-edge features. A panoramic windshield adds to the sense of openness and provides excellent outward visibility.

Standard seating configuration includes room for five, with optional six- and seven-passenger setups available. The first two rows provide ample and comfortable seating space, while the third row might be snug for most adults. It's worth noting that although the third row folds flat, the second row does not fully fold to create additional cargo room. With the rear seats folded down, the Model X presents a generous 88 cubic feet of cargo space, inclusive of a storage area under the hood.

Standard Features: Standard interior amenities include ambient lighting, heated and power-adjustable front seats, automatic climate control, dual illuminated vanity mirrors, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a tilt-and-telescoping steering column, and a second-row bench seat.

Performance: The Model X shines in terms of responsive handling and lightning-fast acceleration, placing it among the most exhilarating vehicles in its class. Each trim comes equipped with a single-speed automatic transmission distributing power to all four wheels.

In detail, the 75D delivers a 0-60 mph sprint in 4.9 seconds and has an estimated range of 237 miles. The 100D accelerates from 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds and boasts a noteworthy 295-mile range. The top-tier P100D rockets from 0-60 mph in just 2.9 seconds and offers a range of 289 miles. Versatile charging options allow up to 50 miles of range per hour using a 240-volt source, while the Tesla Supercharger network can recharge up to 170 miles of range within 30 minutes. The Model X also has a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds and achieves EPA ratings up to 91/95 MPGe.

Technology: Base models of the 2018 Model X come packed with tech features such as navigation, mobile Wi-Fi, keyless entry and ignition, a nine-speaker audio system, a 17-inch touchscreen display, a rearview camera, Bluetooth connectivity for phone and audio streaming, and a forward collision mitigation system.

Optional technology upgrades include premium sound systems and an Enhanced Autopilot package, which encompasses a self-parking feature and various advanced driver assistance systems.
