2022 Formula One Miami Grand Prix: What Do You Want To Know?
2022 Formula One Miami Grand Prix: What Do You Want To Know?-July 2024

Miami GP campus map

In just three days, will hit the track at the (or: the parking lot of the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida). I’m boarding a plane bright and early tomorrow morning to get there early, which means it’s that time again: What do you want to know about the Miami Grand Prix?

This is a brand new track, which means that it’s a relative unknown in the Formula One sphere. We do know a few things, like the fact that and that local have no interest in playing host to a race. We know that there’s some sort of yacht-filled marina. But we don’t know a whole lot more.

That’s why I’m here. Consider me your eyes and ears on the ground. If you’ve been wondering about something, I’ll find you an answer. Wondering what the food is like at the track? I’m on it. Curious if there’s actually going to be ? I’ll find out — and I’ll even measure its depth for you. Want to know more about the track itself or the parties taking place around the race? Curious about the celebrities? Are you planning on attending the race in the future and want to know the best place to sit? Do you just want to know if there are any carnival rides? Are you wondering how locals are responding to the race, or how F1 personnel have responded to their criticisms? I’ve got you covered. Ask away!

Further, I’m also going to be attending some VIP-heavy parties at the , which will be my first-ever experience doing something fancy during a Grand Prix weekend (aside from the time my friends and I decided to go to a fancy VIP dinner after the Canadian Grand Prix and later wept as we received the check; let this be your warning that if prices are not readily available, you cannot afford it). Do you want the inside scoop on what it’s like for a little behind-the-scenes action? Trust me: I’m here.

And if you’re in Miami — let me know! Jalopnik isn’t organizing any formal meetups for this event because I am frankly swamped with scheduling conflicts as it is, but I’m happy to come say hello to anyone I can find!

The No. 24 BMW M6 GTLM got stuck in pit lane about thirty minutes in to the 24 Hours of Daytona—just not in its own pit stall. The poor M6 stopped at the entrance to pit lane, in the outer fast lane of travel. Driver John Edwards was stuck in...

Lamborghini Goes Full Italian At Daytona, Catches On Fire
Normally, is the Italian marque most associated with random car fires, but in the first hour of the 24 Hours of Daytona it’s Lamborghini’s turn to become a car-b-que. A fuel spill in the pits lit on fire, charring the rear end of the No. 27 Dream Racing Lamborghini Huracán....

Watch Jeff Gordon Forget He's Not In NASCAR Anymore, Punt A Car And Spin It Out
JEFF-GORDON.mpeg Jeff Gordon had just gotten into the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac for the first time in today’s 24 Hours of Daytona, only to accidentally pit maneuver the No. 70 Mazda RT24-P that was coming out of the pits. OOPS! Gordon was still managing his cold tires, so...

Five-Time 24 Hours Of Daytona Winner Spins Out In Hour Two Of This Year's Race
Well, this is unexpected. The No. 14 Lexus RCF GT3 driven by none other than one of the most successful American endurance racers in history, Scott Pruett, just ate the wall. Pruett was in eighth place when he crashed the new-to-America Lexus into the wall. It doesn’t appear to have...

Someone Already Ate A Tire Wall Eight Minutes In To The 24 Hours Of Daytona
Jeroen Mul in the No. 16 Change Racing Lamborghini Huracán GT3 gets the honor of being the very first person to crash at the Rolex 24. Already. Eight minutes into a 24-hour race. Mul caught the right-hand curbing of the track, unsettling the car and sending it out of control...

Car In 'Please Don't Hit Me Pink' Livery Takes Porsche Out Of Rolex 24
Starworks Motorsport wanted people to notice and avoid its No. 8 car during the 24 Hours of Daytona, so they painted it a lovely neon shade they deemed “Please Don’t Hit Me Pink.” Only problem is, this doesn’t prevent the No. 8 from hitting other people. No. 8 driver John...
