In 2012, Ducati changed the pace and released a new, smaller Streetfighter with higher handlebars, wider footrests, a modified seating position, and powered by a 848 engine. The new Streetfighter 848 targeted a different clientele, one that prefers a less extreme design than that of the big Streetfighters. The Streetfighter 848 was sold between 2011 and 2015.
The 2015 Streetfighter 848 is the last one of the series because Ducati discontinued the model in 2015.
The last model of the 848 range is powered bt an 849cc Testastretta L-Twin liquid-cooled engine rated at 125 hp at 10.000 rpm and 89 Nm (66 lb-ft) of torque at 9,750 rpm, and runs a six-speed manual gearbox. With a dry weight of 169 kg (373 lbs), the Streetfighter can reach a top speed of 243 kph (151 mph).
The model has the same tubular steel Trellis frame as its predecessors. The suspension mounted on the frame comes as a Marzocchi 43mm fully adjustable USD fork on the front, and a progressive linkage with a fully adjustable monoshock on the rear.
The 2015 model gets its braking power from two 320 mm semi-floating discs, radially mounted Brembo four-piston calipers on the front side, and a 245 mm disc, two-piston caliper on the rear.
The 2015 Ducati Streetfighter 848 was for sale in 2022, starting from $9,000.
