In 2017, the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer launched the Yamaha Bolt, a cruiser motorcycle in its fourth year of production. The bike was also available in a C-Spec version that was replaced in 2017 by the XV950SCR (Scrambler) and an R-Spec version with upgraded rear shocks.
The bike debuted in 2014 and was well supported by large and small aftermarket companies supplying it with a wide range of parts. It was quickly transformed into a bobber, chopper, rat, and scrambler style.
In other countries besides America, the bike was known as the Yamaha XV950 and was also available as standard, C-Spec with ABS, and R-Spec with uprated piggyback remote reservoirs shock absorbers on the rear.
As for appearance, the 2017 Yamaha Bolt packed standard features, such as a raked-out fork on the front, a round headlight, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a single seat with a low riding position, a single exhaust system, and a side stand.
In the performance department, the 2017 Yamaha Bolt had its soul brought to life by a 942cc four-stroke V-twin air-cooled engine fed by an electronically-controlled fuel injection system, sending the power to the rear wheel through a five-speed manual transmission with a wet multi-plate clutch and a final belt drive.
The front wheel was handled by a telescopic fork with 120 mm wheel travel and a wave-type 298 mm brake disc. In contrast, the rear wheel was operated by dual side-mounted shock absorbers with 70 mm wheel travel and a wave-type 298 mm brake disc.
