The Yamaha Bolt, or Star Bolt, was a cruiser motorcycle presented by Yamaha in 2013 and manufactured in 2014. The Yamaha Bolt packed a 942cc V-twin air-cooled four-stroke engine at its core.
In addition to the standard model, the Japanese manufacturer made available an R-spec version that featured reservoir shock absorbers on the rear and an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) for enhanced control.
The 2014 Yamaha Bolt R-spec model was fitted from the factory with standard features, including a single seat with a low riding position, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a blacked-out engine and exhaust system, a round headlight, a side stand, and 12-spoke lightweight aluminum wheels.
In the suspension department, the R-spec machine was fitted with a 41 mm telescopic fork on the front with 120 mm wheel travel and dual reservoir shock absorbers on the rear, providing a smooth and comfortable riding experience.
As for stopping power, the motorcycle packed a dual-piston caliper with a 298 mm disc on the front wheel and a 298 mm disc with a single-piston caliper on the rear wheel, offering reliable braking performance.
The 2014 Yamaha Bolt R-spec was fitted with a 942cc four-stroke air-cooled V-twin powerplant fed by a fuel injection system, capable of delivering 80 Nm (59 lb-ft) of torque with a maximum peak at 3,000 rpm.
Also, the bike was built on a very customizable platform and was well supported by the larger aftermarket companies but also by smaller ones.
