The Yamaha Bolt or Star Bolt was the American name of a cruiser and cafe racer motorcycle introduced in 2013 and launched in 2014. In addition to the standard model, the bike was also available in C-Spec and R-Spec versions with ABS and upgraded rear shock absorbers.
Due to its highly customizable platform, the Bolt series proved to be very well supported by large and small aftermarket companies. The bikes were quickly transformed into bobber, chopper, rat, and scrambler styles.
In 2016, the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer launched the Yamaha Bolt R-Spec, a machine that featured a different choice in color than the base model and upgraded rear suspension with piggyback-style remote reservoirs.
In the aesthetic department, the R-Spec version was similar to its siblings, packing the same standard features, including a raked-out fork, a round headlight, a single seat, a single exhaust system, and 12-spoke lightweight wheels with a fat tire on the rear.
Underneath its fuel tank, the 2016 Yamaha Bolt R-Spec had installed a 942cc four-stroke air-cooled V-twin engine with an electronically controlled fuel injection system in charge, offering 80 Nm (59 lb-ft) torque with maximum strength at 3,000 rpm.
In 2023 (at the time of writing), the 2016 Yamaha Bolt R-Spec was for sale with a price ranging between $5,000 and $6,500.
