A Reminder That Chris Hemsworth Isn't James Hunt
A Reminder That Chris Hemsworth Isn't James Hunt-July 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:21

Chris Hemsworth, the actor who played both racer James Hunt in Rush as well as Thor in the Marvel comic book films, took Formula E’s show car out for a spin during the New York City ePrix weekend. A little wall-tagging spin. Oops!

Looks like Thor hammered the throttle pedal just a bit too hard coming out of Turn 7 on the New York course, spinning the car around in the process and tagging the wall with the front of the car.

Fortunately, nothing looked too damaged by the crash, which happened at relatively slow speeds coming out of a corner on the course.

Hemsworth got a spin in the car as one of series sponsor Tag Heuer’s brand ambassadors, notes. Nelson Piquet Jr., who won the series’ first season, was on hand to coach him through it. Either way, I daresay it’s hard to have too bad of a time in this car, which has gobs of torque.

Better luck next time, Chris. Re-watch some of that footage from Rush and go try again.
