German publication Sport Auto has taken the new BMW M8 Competition around the Nurburgring. With experienced test driver Christian Gebhardt and the runningPirelli P Zero rubber, the BMW M8 Competition completed a lap of the Nurburgring in 7min32.79, which is staggeringly quick.
In comparison, that's faster than a Pagani Zonda F, Porsche 911 GT3 RS, Ferrari F12 Berlinetta as well as some early Koenigsegg models like the CCX and CCR. Interestingly, the BMW M5 Competition managed a 7.36 with the same driver behind the wheel.
The BMW M8 Competition is on sale in South Africa with a price tag ofR3300272. It's powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 motor delivering 460 kW and 750 Nm. Power goes to all 4 wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission and it's capable of hitting 100 kph in a claimed 3.2 seconds.
