Buy This Alfa Romeo SZ Before It Hurts Somebody
Buy This Alfa Romeo SZ Before It Hurts Somebody-May 2024

Alfa Romeo’s Sport Zagato is a weapon. I don’t mean that it’s good on track or particularly fast, though it’s no slouch at either. No, I mean it’s a weapon in the sense that it’s been well trained and it’s full of sharp edges. This thing is one of Zagato’s more holy-shit-1990s designs, and it all culminates in a car so sharp it could slice your honey baked ham just by looking at it. And for that reason alone, I really want it.

It’s not a particularly pretty car, but somehow all of these edges and angles and slab-sides work together in a way that is appealing. It’s fetching in the kind of way that a building is. It doesn’t inspire physical attraction quite so much as it does inquisitive glances. It’s no Miura, that’s for sure.

Powered by a 3-liter V6 with 207 horsepower, this rear-wheel-drive army of one is based on the same platform as the Alfa “compact executive car” 75 sedan. The suspension, however, was pulled from Alfa’s IMSA race car, engineered by the works rally team, and input from Koni. With original equipment Pirelli PZeroes in 205/55-16 front and 225/50-16 rear, this ridiculous little sports car could, , corner as high as 1.4G, which was absolutely bonkers for 1990.

Every single SZ was built in this color combination, and only 1036 examples were produced. About 10% of these were exported to Japan, where they were a huge hit for some reason.

If you want to have the raddest car on your block, which also happens to look like a block of cheese mated with an aircraft carrier, buy this Alfa ASAP.

At $12,500, Would You Have to Be Daft to Pass Up This 2011 Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet?
It’s been said that nobody does weird better than the French, and it was Nissan’s former French CEO, Carlos Ghosn who was responsible for today’s oddity, the Murano CrossCabriolet. Let’s see if such eclecticism can also be a straight-up deal. It has often been said that “nostalgia ain’t what...

Matt’s wife is looking for a new ride for her new job. It needs to be parking garage friendly with a heated steering wheel and no boring colors. They already have a Land Cruiser, so this will be a smaller car to compliment the SUV. What car should they...

What Do 300,000 Miles Do To A 997-Generation Porsche 911?
Much like many of you, I’m sure, I like to lay in bed and doomscroll Twitter in the morning before I get up and make coffee. Most of the time, this just results in me sending to my wife and generally shitposting, but this morning was not like other...

At $1,200, Is This Skamper 072S Pop-Top the Cutest Way to Get Away From it All?
While offered as a project and stripped of its accessories, today’s Skamper is claimed by its seller to still be a solid camper that sleeps three. Let’s see if its condition and price make it a deal worth not sleeping on. While the general consensus on yesterday’s may have...

All-Electric Vehicle Sales Are Up 66 Percent Despite Overall Drop in Car Sales: Report
Electric cars are getting more and more common every day, especially if you live in or around a major metropolitan area. Of course, they still represent just a small fraction of the total cars on the road, but that could be changing sooner than we thought if the sales...

CarMax Employee Scores Deal of a Lifetime With $30,000 Acura NSX
The first-generation was a giant killer. It showed you could make a sports car that rivaled the Italians with performance, but also had the reliability to make sure that it actually worked when you wanted it to. So it’s no surprise that these early NSXs are highly sought after...
