The iconic from Bullitt is easily one of the top three greatest cars in the automotive history of Hollywood, one that inspired generations of youths (myself included) to fall in love with cars. Now, you can actually own the actual car used in the film, because it’s going to auction in January.

This is the very car that spent four decades missing, the one that made its debut reappearance at the North American International Auto Show in . It’s one of two that were used in the movie, and it’s still in relatively original condition. Yes, Steve McQueen fans—it’s about as close as you can get to meeting the man himself these days. And you get to admire all the battle scars from the film itself.

Only a few changes have been made. Minor parts, like the original steering wheel and shift knob, were stolen and had to be replaced. The engine also underwent a rebuild, using as many original Mustang parts as possible.

All said, though, it’s in pretty stunning shape for how old and coveted it is.

It’ll be up for auction in January at Mecum’s Kissimmee, Florida auction, its reports, and the car will appear at various automotive events leading up to that time. So, if you’re not able to buy it, you might still be able to lay your eyes on it.

There isn’t currently an estimated price for this bad boy, but if I had to guess, I’d say it’ll be A Lot. Given the fact that McQueen’s from the movie was estimated to sell at $800,000, there’s a pretty good chance this car will be worth millions, taking home the prize for most expensive car to cross the auction block at Kissimmee.

McQueen himself after filming Bullitt and failed miserably. Whoever ends up taking it home can comfort themselves on all that money spent by realizing they managed to do something pretty damn cool that McQueen never could.

At $20,500, Is This Two-Owner 2007 Audi RS4 Too Much To Handle?
The seller of today’s RS4 says he owns another and that two is one too many. He may never make it on an episode of Hoarders, but will this hot Audi’s price make it worth adding to your collection? There was some grade-A detective work going on in the...

At $3,300, Could This 2003 Ford Focus SVT Be a Hot Hatch That’s a ‘Natch?
The ad for today’s Focus SVT does an excellent job of pointing out the car’s ups as well as its downs. Let’s decide if a seller who’s an honest Abe deserves all his requested Benjamins. With a new mid-engine Corvette nascent I think it a prime opportunity to reflect...

The Toyota 4Runner Is Old as Hell but Now I Get Why Everyone Loves It
There was a mystery plaguing me a little while back. I was thinking about some of the oldest cars still in production–your Dodge Journeys and Morgan Plus 8s of the world. It was then that I realized today’s Toyota 4Runner is positively ancient; basically having been in production, virtually...

At $7,499, Could This Kermit Colored 1974 Fiat X1/9 Make it Easy Being Green?
The seller of today’s X1/9 claims it to be both the best year and a desirable color. That’s pretty bold hyperbole, but does it justify the price? Back in the 1970s, arena rock mainstays Cheap Trick had a rafter shaker they called I Know What I Want. It was...

Laquan has been in a rut of getting cars that just won’t last. He isn’t too picky and just wants something comfortable for his dog, reliable, with all-wheel-drive and heated seats, but his price point makes that somewhat challenging. What car should he buy? (Welcome back to ? Where...
