left a big question in the minds of the brand’s fans: With a new entry-level sedan on the horizon, what would become of the compact ILX? Many assumed the ILX would simply die off, and it seems they were right — Acura has confirmed that 2022 will be the last year for its smallest sedan.

about rumors of the ILX’s demise, who confirmed that the Integra will be taking its place in the automaker’s lineup. The Integra will be the “new entry point to the brand,” hopefully reinvigorating customers’ desire to have car names imprinted in their bumpers. :

The Acura ILX is leaving the automaker’s lineup, the company confirms to Motor1.com. “The 2022 model year is the final model year for the ILX, in anticipation of the new Integra,” spokesperson Chris Naughton told Motor1.com.

“The new Integra was developed from day 1 to deliver on the original lineage that began with Integra back in 1986. It is a continuation of that formula that brought so many first-time buyers into the Acura family and will be the new entry point to the brand,” Naughton told Motor1.com.

Hopefully the Integra will be offered with an equally red interior

The ILX has never been a particularly high-volume model, with sitting about 50 percent less than the . That’s likely something Acura wants to change with the new Integra, wringing a few more sales out of the brand’s cheapest offering.

With orders opening for the new Integra next month, the ILX’s time is likely just about over. Acura didn’t confirm a specific date for production to end for the outgoing compact, but with the Integra confirmed for a Spring production start, it can’t be too far off.

Could This 2006 Saab 9-3 SportCombi Pull $6,975?
Could This 2006 Saab 9-3 SportCombi Pull $6,975?
Today’s Saab may be less born of jets than orphaned by Opel, but it’s still kitted out the way most of us would like. Will its price however have you saying how Swede it is? It has been said that you should hate the sin, but love the sinner. Yesterday’s...

Let American Hero Jack Diamond Teach You How To Flip A Car Properly
If I could sum up the YouTube channel in one word, that word would be heroism. They’re always highlighting some of the unsung heroes of the car world, like thanks to his rich Hollywood dad. Today they introduce another: legendary car flipper Jack Diamond. If Diamond’s car-flipping show Diamond in...

This 2002 Porsche Boxster S Asks $11,750, Is Claimed Balls-Out Fast
While obviously a typo, the ad for today’s Boxster says it has an amazing 265-mph top speed. That would be awesome if it were true, but will its price also have you questioning the seller’s keyboard skills? Knock, knock. Who’s there? Panther. Panther who? Panther no Panth, I’m going out!...

For $15,900, Is This 2008 Audi S6 An Imperfect 10?
Audi is famous for their AWD and for hanging inline 5-cylinder engines over their front axles. A V10 isn’t much longer, and that’s just what today’s S6 has hanging out under its hood. It has something else, which might just make you second guess hanging on. So much went unanswered...

For $14,199, Yup, That’s A 1959 Lincoln Continental Mark IV Ranchero
The typical modifications in the creation of a custom rod are chopping and channeling, and maybe if you’re lucky, some sexy frenching. Today’s custom classic Lincoln ignores all of those for some cool bedding, but will its price make you want to sleep on it? Are you presently holding down...

For $14,500, Would You Hatch A Plan To Buy This 1996 BMW 330ti?
Today’s BMW is a car that the factory never built. Instead it’s a melding of models commissioned by a very dedicated and exacting owner, and now that owner has set a price for his match making. Considering that the five-point-oh is forever intrinsically linked to Vanilla Ice - who is...
