DeltaWing Crash Cuts Afternoon Session Short At The Roar Before The 24-June 2024

The DeltaWing was running consistent times at the top of the lap time charts all during the TUDOR United SportsCar Roar Before the 24 practice weekend only to have its time at the event cut short because of damage sustained in a crash.

Today clearly wasn't the DeltaWing's lucky day. According to the DeltaWing's carbon fiber floor was damaged in the morning session by debris left by the Daytona Prototype that .

Memo Rojas was piloting the #0 DeltaWing DWC13 when he lost control in the Turn 4 kink, sending him spinning into the wall between turns 4 and 5. Luckily no one was hurt, and Rojas was able to exit the car under his own power and help guide the giant arrowhead-shaped car onto the trailer to make sure the car wouldn't sustain any more damage from the haul back to the pits.

Rojas was evaluated and released from the infield medical center shortly after the crash.

This fourth practice session of the weekend, like , was red-flagged immediately to safely move the DeltaWing out of the way.

According to the team surveyed the damage to the left side of the car and determined that it was too extensive to repair in the paddock. They will take the car back to their Braselton, Georgia, headquarters and plan to have it repaired in time for the Rolex 24 at Daytona in a couple weeks.
