Denver Bronco DeMarcus Ware Tries His Giant Hand At Off-Road Racing
Denver Bronco DeMarcus Ware Tries His Giant Hand At Off-Road Racing-May 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:13:27

Defensive end DeMarcus Ware has only just signed with the Denver Broncos, but he's already tossed his football helmet for a racing helmet to throw down in "America's oldest off-road race," the out of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ware's been in the NFL since 2005, and more recently become affiliated with Red Bull.

I don't think anyone's asking him to quit his day job but he did finish the race, which is more than a lot of competitors get to say when they walk away from The Mint 400.

Ware jumped in with the Zero One Odyssey Team, racing in the Limited Class with Red Bull's off-road "Signature Series" TV show host Sal Masekela and hilarious auto journalist Ezra Dyer. The football player got around 60 miles in behind the wheel of his team's Subaru EJ2 buggy, helping them take third place in class.

He also threw down a $10,000 wager on winning the race, which he made good on who took the 1st place trophy home from Las Vegas.

The overall lead in the 2014 Mint 400 desert race changed multiple times over the course of the…

He joins the ranks of famous non-racers who have given The Mint 400 a shot, including James Garner, Steve McQueen and Paul Newman.
