Do Nothing Else Today: Here Is Your 2015 Nürburgring Crash And Fail Round-Up
Do Nothing Else Today: Here Is Your 2015 Nürburgring Crash And Fail Round-Up-March 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:36

It’s truly the most wonderful time of the year. Of course, I’m not talking about Christmas — it’s not even Thanksgiving yet. I’m talking about something way better. It’s the gift that keeps on giving. That’s right: it’s time for everyone to release their annual compilations of Nürburgring crashes. Enjoy!

The Nürburgring is a magical place — — but if you don’t approach it with respect, it will chew up your car and spit it right back out onto a flatbed.

We’ve featured throughout the year, but it’s always nice to blow through an entire afternoon watching mega-cuts of ‘ring carnage all at once. It’s also worth noting that these touristenfahrten/VLN carnage compilations never show serious injury or death.

Here are the best of the best, just in time to ruin your productivity for the day.

Lo and behold, the rental M235i this year became this compilation’s thumbnail — . RIP, pretty blue car. May someone shove that glorious drivetrain into a stripped-out 924 and lay down ridiculous elevenses into Valhalla.

rallyeoberehe’s video is awesome because it often has a couple different angles and replays of big hits, including a slow-mo replay of the littering a straight with carbon fiber chunks at the Nürburgring 24 Hour.

You know what isn’t awesome? Passing on the grass, , or catching a curb in just such a way to toss you into the barrier. I have to admit that the Renault that rally-cars an S-curve into a straight is pretty impressive, though. Anyway, this video includes a lot of spins and saves in with the outright crashes. Code Brown: activated.

We’ve featured Automobilchannel’s compilations in previous years, and they’re always an entertaining watch.

Watch with amazement as one rider lays down his bike and almost seems to spring back on two feet while tumbling from his fall. Feel the pain as lustworthy track vehicles lose it on the Nordschleife. Will they make it, or will you hear the fateful clang of the wall? (Bonus: the same guys put together a , too.)

Not every crash in these is entirely the fault of the driver, per se. Losing a wheel on the Nürburgring? Yeah, you’ll probably want to avoid that.

Repeat after me: “I am not . I am not Stefan Roser. I am definitely not Stefan Roser.”

Edit: Here’s one more with some of the harder hits from the year.

Look at that windshield just pop out. Crazy.

The Bitcoin Car Isn't Sponsored By Bitcoin
The Bitcoin Car Isn't Sponsored By Bitcoin
This week Ed Carpenter Racing announced the final of the Indy 500's 35 car entries, for race rookie Rinus Veekay, . There’s only one problem with that, Bitcoin is a decentralized entity, meaning nobody owns it or operates it. Therefore, there isn’t anyone to actually provide sponsorship dollars, and...

Slowing Down Has Never Looked So Hard
Slowing Down Has Never Looked So Hard
The greatest piece of onboard driving footage is, without a shred of doubt in my mind, the legendary Ari Vatanen going flat-out down a narrow rally stage, clipping a cattle guard, and nearly careening off the road while his codriver calmly intones “dear God.” Here is a bit more context...

Formula 1's Neverending Battle With Flexible Wings Is On Once Again
Lewis Hamilton after qualifying in Spain this past weekend that the Red Bull cars had “bendy” rear wings on their car, which made them three-tenths of a second faster. That would be big if true, because Formula 1 has been battling flexible wings for decades. The problem, of course,...

Ferrari Is Almost Ready To Give Up On Its 2021 F1 Effort
Sorry Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, your car is pretty much only going to get less competitive as the 2021 season drags on, because Scuderia Ferrari says it’s moving “90 to 95 percent” of its focus to developing its 2022 car and the new regulations. It will not risk...

The 105th running of the Indianapolis 500 goes down later this month, and while it looked touch and go there for a hot minute, there will actually be two entries exiting the event on Saturday, May 22nd, bump day. With final entries confirmed Wednesday following for the five-hundred. In...
