2024 Ford Mustang

The Chevrolet Camaro, Dodge Challenger and Ford Mustang rivalry is one of the oldest in the automotive world. These cars have traded blows for decades, be it on the street, on the racetrack or in yearly sales. 2023 saw the and drive off to the great dealership in the sky, and it looks like they got their asses handed to them in sales by .

After getting unveiled in September 2022, the new went on sale in mid-2023. Even with that model year changeover, Ford managed to 48,605 Mustangs overall in 2023, and the new generation got off to a good start with 13,290 sold in Q4.

The Dodge Challenger came in a close second. Even with production winding down, Dodge managed to sell 44,960 of its long-running coupe. While impressive, that number is down 18 percent over 2022 when just over 55,000 were sold. Sales of the Challenger were down in Q4 as well – 9,610 were sold, which is down 26 percent from the year before.

Chevy’s Camaro finished last in sales, which has been the case for a while now. Just 31,028 Camaros were sold in 2023. While low compared to the others pony cars, those sales are up nearly 26 percent versus 2022.

It’ll be interesting to see how these sales play out going forward, as the future of the American muscle car is going to be very different from what it is now. Dodge has a new muscle car coming soon that powertrains. Chevy hasn’t said whether or not the Camaro is returning, but there have been rumors of a to make the Camaro its own sub-brand, similar to what Ford has done with .

For $89,999, Is Chris Brown’s 2004 Lamborghini Gallardo The Last Word In Celebrity Customs?
Celebrity-owned cars can command a premium for their provenance, that is when the celebrity isn’t found out to be a dick. Today’s custom Gallardo is celebrity-owned, but is it one worth celebrating? We’ve had two French cars here this week, and the results have been split. Monday’s Renault GTA dropped...

The Lexus LFA Is The Most Misunderstood Modern Supercar
In the briefest of moments, while while firing off a gear change at 9000 RPM with the banshee-like V10 wailing in my ears, I caught a glimpse of that L-shaped Lexus logo on the steering wheel. And as I gripped the wheel to wrest the car through the winding road,...

In some parts of the country, Craigslist is only useful for finding a crappy $250 riding mower or an old stained couch. But not all of it is like that! Fortunately with these 10 Craigslist sites, you’ll be covered for most of your automotive needs. In dire need of a...

For $22,500 (Reduced!), How About This 1967 VW Type 2 Panel Pop Top?
The original Volkswagen Type 2 gained the nickname “Splitty” for its aerodynamically intended split windshield. Our contender panel carries that sobriquet, and a lot more, but would you expect its price to make it sell lickity split? Based on decades of SciFi movie indoctrination, today we expect Unidentified Flying Objects...

How About This Clean 1991 Audi V8 Quattro Survivor for $19,499?
The ad for today’s Audi says it’s one of only 53 originals and that it could be one of the only ones left. That makes it a survivor, but will its price prove it to be the eye of the tiger? Chris Brown may have sung Don’t Judge Me, but...

For $25,995, This Kelmark GT Is Your Complete Kit Car
Ferrari’s 246 Dino only came with six cylinders, which isn’t all that many if you ask me. Today’s Kelmark GT rocks two more than that, and it’s about the tenth the cost of the real deal. Will that make its price seem like it’s a deal too? Hippies (piss shiver)....
