Despite the steady increase in prices, drivers are still swooping in and taking these cars home relatively quick. Electric cars are now the first to go from used lots according to a study from , with the Tesla and the selling the fastest among 2016-2020 model years in the U.S.

The car sales analyst reports that as of this July, EVs top the used car sales charts. The study from groups combustion-equipped cars, hybrid cars and fully-electrified cars together. On average, the three used EV models mentioned above sit on the lot for about two to three weeks, and sell at the following prices:

Tesla Model 3 - sold in 15.7 days, for $46,982Chevrolet Bolt EV - sold in 20.8 days, for $22,005Tesla Model S - sold in 21.3 days, for $64,205

The closest ICE car is the BMW 4 Series, which sits on the lot for just about 23 days and sells for a little over $40,000. That’s two more days than the Chevy Bolt EV. For reference, the “Average for All Used Vehicles” cited in the is 35.4 days until sold, at a price just over $31,000.

There are a couple of surprises here, other than the fact that used EVs are selling so quickly. The first is that drivers are buying used Bolts at this rate, even with the in place.

GM has had a hard time lately with its EVs, which have been recalled yet again to fix bad battery cells in 2017-19 model year Bolts. The recall is proving to be , already costing GM around $800 million, but it looks like that recall is having the opposite effect for drivers. The Bolt EV is the cheapest electric car among the top three. Even though many drivers may be wary of the recalls, it seems like an electric car coming in around the is too good to pass up — be damned.

The other surprise is that the Model 3 is so popular that drivers will not only buy these faster than any other used car, but they’ll actually pay more for a used one than a new one sometimes, according to analyst Karl Brauer:

“The Tesla Model 3 has remained popular since its high-profile debut, thanks to impressive technology and performance, plus a relatively affordable price compared to Tesla’s earlier vehicles,” said Brauer. “Used Model 3’s are so popular that consumers are willing to purchase used versions at .”

Tesla’s Model 3 has appeared on the list of the fastest-selling used cars for the fifth consecutive month, too. And it’s not like the study is so narrow that it would skew favorably for electric cars. It takes four model years into account, and still the EVs are outpacing the rest.

The sales study is worth taking a look at in its , and I’m also glad to see hybrids and PHEVs make the list. Brauer notes that the increased popularity could be due to .

At $6,000, Could This Shabby Chic 1991 Lotus Elan Get Some of Your British Racing Green?
While it may share its name with a venerated and desirable ancestor, today’s Elan shares little else. Let’s see if this bedraggled edition is priced commensurate with its station and condition. While it didn’t fair as badly as did Monday’s Taurus SHO, yesterday’s still couldn’t get a pass at its...

What an Electric London Taxi Is Like to Drive
Providing passage for the tired, tipsy, and busy, the Black Cab is as much a part of foggy London’s furniture as the red phone boxes no one uses. Thing is, the cabs you’re used to seeing aren’t very efficient, comfortable, or spacious. So the LEVC (London Electric Vehicle Company) TX...

God Can Always Track You Down and Kill You, but in a 300 Horsepower Toyota Camry You Get a Pretty Good Running Start
I spent a week in a nearly $40,000 with a red leather interior and 301 horsepower. It is one of the best cars on sale today. I’d call it an instant classic but for two minor flaws. ( Toyota wanted me to drive the new Camry so bad that they...

2019 Toyota Supra: The King Is Back And Good Enough To Hunt Porsches
It’s been a long time coming. It has been 25 years since the launch of the last , way back in 1993. The internet was barely out of diapers back then, and all you really needed in life was a manual gearbox, a turbocharged 2JZ engine, a gigantic hoop spoiler...

People make mistakes. Sometimes it’s as small as forgetting to pay a parking ticket, and sometimes it’s spending a lot of money on a rally car that ends up parked, becoming a huge pain in the ass. What isn’t a mistake is Land Rover offering the to Americans, which is...

Today’s C/K might be old, but its kit and condition mean it’s still got it going on. Let’s see if its price will also make it worth going out and getting. Ford’s Taurus has been described as the car that saved Ford. Hell, there’s even by that title. That may...
