Feel Free To Cringe While Watching A Jag Roll Off A Trailer, Into A Truck, Which Rolls Into A GTR
Feel Free To Cringe While Watching A Jag Roll Off A Trailer, Into A Truck, Which Rolls Into A GTR-December 2024

I suspect everyone watching this is likely to make that same scrunched-up, one-eye-squinting, sympathetic ouch face; I know I did. Someone hunted around for a hard-to-find manual Jaguar F-type, Ouch.

This was posted to Reddit’s , and, gotta admit, that title feels pretty accurate. Though, to be fair, none of the damage looks unrepairable, and I suppose this could have gone far worse if there were no cars on the hill, and the Jag continued down, picking up more and more speed.

Here’s the video, complete with someone gasping in horror:

I’m baffled by a lot of what’s going on here; it’s in the comment thread that I saw this was a manual F-Type. So why wasn’t it left in gear, with the parking brake on? Is that not standard practice when transporting a car on one of these?

I’ve had cars transported, and I know at least the car would be secured with a chain or strap; I have no idea why there doesn’t appear to be any straps, but just in case you’re some kind of anti-strapper, hopefully this video will make you reconsider your stance.

This Charmingly Half-Assed Forgotten 4x4 Pacer Concept Is Peak AMC
This Charmingly Half-Assed Forgotten 4x4 Pacer Concept Is Peak AMC
There’s many, many things I love about AMC, America’s lovable loser of carmakers, but I think its truly defining trait has to do with its sheer inventiveness and cleverness in the face of its own perpetual broke-ness. AMC was the master of re-use and repurposing cars, like making the...

These Were The Ten Least Popular Car Options Of 2021 (According To Me)
I’ve been reviewing mountains of largely fictional data about consumer car-buying habits in the very difficult automotive-sales year we just left, and let me tell you, some of the facts I’m learning/making up are absolutely fascinating. Even with the chip shortage and massive supply chain issues and absurd prices,...

Cadillac Brought A Rolling Autonomous Lounge To CES
If Cadillac has its way, the future will have autonomous vehicles with immersive passenger experiences. That’s what Cadillac’s autonomous is, a rolling tech-filled autonomous lounge. The Innerspace is one of three lounge-like concepts shown at CES the last few years, the other two being SocialSpace and PersonalSpace shown at...

Blip: The Nose Of A Shark
Blip: The Nose Of A Shark
This 1972 BMW 3.0 CSL is a good reminder that often, less is more. This car is lean and hungry-looking, with that forward-raked nose, no B-pillar, and clean, tapered side panels with just the right amount of stuff on the car—a vent, some stripes, subtle fender flares. It looks...

Big Oil Is Buying Google Ads That Don't Look Like Ads To Shape Public Perception
Most people know that everything we read on the internet is 100 percent true, which makes an arbiter of truth in a discomforting way; you’re only as right as says you are. That’s why companies are buying ads that look like legitimate search results. Exxonmobil, Shell and Aramco are among...

Honda Clocks Are Stuck 20 Years In The Past And There Isn't A Fix
The Jalopnik inbox has been lit up with a number of reports about clocks and calendars in Honda cars getting stuck at a certain time in the year 2002. The spread is impressive, impacting Honda and Acura models as old as 2004 and as new as 2012. Here’s what...
