A North Miami outfit has created a remarkably low-tech “modification” for a self-balancing electric scooter () that allows it to be operated from a beach chair. It can even tow all your other giant goofy toys.

I still sort of want all non-hovering self-propelled horizontal skateboards to Get Off My Lawn. But I must say, I’m impressed with how quickly one can carry this woman, a chair and a sizable lump of plastic (fiberglass?) boat.

And of course the US International Trade Commission isn’t stoked on these things either, . over patent-infringement claims from Segway.

The thing even works alright on a beach or a sandy South Florida sidewalk. It also seems to work best when ridden with Crocs, naturally.

Take a closer look at the “add-on” itself– it’s basically a heavy duty garden store shopping cart hitched to a hoverboard like a pair of tiny futuristic oxen.

You can use that frame to mount a chair, cooler, or tow a couple paddle boards on a cute little trailer. Which I mention again because, come on, it’s hilarious.

Some of the beefier $1,000+ hoverboards can move more than 300 pounds up to 16 MPH which, wow right? Even with all this extra mass and rolling resistance, I guess this young lady’s rig could still be within the board’s tolerance.

By the way this particular part, simply called “Sitting Attachment for Hoverboards” by BoatsToGo.com, for $69.00 plus $15.00 shipping. Actually, no, wait, they’re sold out for the next month! Granted the company might have only made three so far. But either way, if you want one you’re going to have to wait.

It’s also presumably to get ahold of a hoverboard at all, so you might be better off hocking yours on eBay for a big markup instead of turning it into a beach bum .
