For $10,000, This 1994 Ford Explorer Ran When Jurassic Parked-January 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:10:04

Today's Explorer is movie themed and even has its own so that others can share in the cinematic dream. It's a pretty faithful homage to the Jurassic Park trucks, but you'll need to decide if its price simply T-wrecks it.

Panamax is the term given to the largest dimensions of ship that is able to safely fit through the Panama Canal - principally its locks which are about 110 feet wide and 1,050 feet long. I would imagine that, should you want to get an example of what the experience of navigating one of those locks - without helper tugs - is like, then try maneuvering yesterday's through the drive-thru at In-N-Out. Or, maybe that's just what a hamburger is all about, I'm not exactly sure. What I am sure of is that 56% of you think it's worthwhile to at least try at that car's given price.

Pretty unique in the wagon world, GM's '70s clamshell rear gates on their full-size cars pretty…

Long before there was the Panama Canal, people had to ride dinosaurs across the Central American isthmus to get from one side to the other. Either that, or they could have driven in today's , which would have been the preferred means as it comes with A/C.

You all remember the Explorers from the original 1993 Steven Spielberg joint, right? In the movie they were fitted with plexiglass vista roofs that proved to be, shall we say, not exactly dino-proof. This one lacks that accoutrement so you should be safe should a T-Rex attempt to turn you into dino-chow, and then, 24-hours later, into dino-poop.

It's otherwise a pretty good tribute to one of the the film's most iconic set pieces. Considering that it's an Eddie Bauer edition, it's pretty maxed out when it comes to options too. There's the stout 4.0 Cologne V6, AOD auto box, leather this, power that- the damn thing's got everything.

It's all noted in ALL-CAPS in the ad so you know those are important plot points. In fact, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with this 135K wagon (yes, another wagon this week!) unless you don't especially jones over the thought of driving around expecting Jeff Goldblum to suddenly pop up and hit on you.

I imagine that the builder/seller of this Explorer is giddy as a schoolgirl at the prospect of selling this Explorer. That's because the Jurassic World tailer has just hit the preview screens, making everyone nostalgic for the first and best of the Jurassic Park movies. The next one will be #4 and honestly I'm more interested in the one after that, as after all it will be Jurassic Five.

If you can't wait that long and want to share in all the dino-doting right now then maybe this custom Ford will be your tremor-rippled cup of tea. The price of admission is $10,000, and as you might expect it'll cost you two bucks extra if you choose to buy it on Fandango.

What's your take on this movie homage Explorer for ten grand? Is that a price that should have buyers lining up for its opening day? Or, does that price miss the Jurassic Mark?

You decide!

Denver , or go if the ad disappears.

For $155,000, How Do You Rolls?
When Pandora opened her eponymous box, all hell broke loose. Similarly, the Rolls Royce Camargue is boxy as hell, but today's custom hardtop convertible would make even that old Greek bitch happy. As we noted yesterday, the won Pininfarina an award for its design. That fact didn't make much of...

Today is Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day and to show our respect, our contender is an all-American icon that has benefitted from its Japanese invasion. Along with Japan, Italy made some questionable choices of teams in WWII. Since then, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Ducati and certain Alfa Romeos have gone a long way...

For $6,950, Will This Alfa 33 Be Long Playing?
Before CDs and iPods, music was sold on records and tapes, and a common vinyl format was the 33 RPM LP. Today's Alfa Romeo 33 is uncommon, but it might make some beautiful music. They say that to be a true auto enthusiast you need to have owned at least...

For $37,990, Is This Fiat Your Coupé of Grande?
Historically, Italian Coupes played the roll of Cinderella to their portly sedan stepsisters, and that's exactly the case with today's Fiat 130 Coupé. But instead of a glass slipper, this car requires a fat wallet. When America found itself drawn into WWII, the nation's men and women lined up to...

How You'll Trade Your Privacy For Cheaper Car Insurance
America’s auto insurers will push for new driver monitoring systems, such as in-car video cameras, as a way to cut costs and crashes. Who needs driverless cars when all drivers could soon get an electronic nanny? In recent years insurers have started using various systems, including GM’s OnStar, to check...

For $4,000, Go For The RX-7 Gold
The original RX-7 breathed new life into Mazda's sputtering ‘70s sales. Today's 1980 LS edition is all original, but does its price leave you breathless? Okay, today we're putting the brakes on shooting brakes, but not before noting that yesterday's was shot down in flames to the tune of an...
