For $40,000, This 1987 Porsche 911 Cab Is NSFW
For $40,000, This 1987 Porsche 911 Cab Is NSFW-August 2024

Today's Porsche has a crude epithet emblazoned on its limp donkey dong of an air intake, and visible under its rear wing. It's a bold statement to make to those who follow it, and we'll need to decide if a similar sentiment has been offered by the seller in setting this car's price.

Okay, just to be clear, yesterday's did NOT have a Cadillac steering wheel. The badge mistaken for a Caddy wreath in the grainy pic of the wheel is in fact the Wolfsburg Castle, which has no Cadillac style. A Caddy tiller probably wouldn't have had any effect on the car's 86% Crack Pipe loss either.

The windshield of today's Nice Price or Crack Pipe VW carries the self-deprecating proclamation…

Fuck off. That is what you would see if you were to follow today's as that is what is painted on the air intake - above an oversized Porsche badge and some reference to the 7-litres of engine that air intake feeds. Yes, 7-litres.

This custom cabriolet, with its lovely Speedster humps and whackadoodle wing, has given up on the whole flat six schtick and gone straight to that old reliable stand in for blue collar power, the Chevy V8. Here that's expressed in the form of a 427-cid LS7.

The engine of course sits bass-akwards necessitating the odd, and perhaps offensive air intake. Apparently it also requires the big-ass (literally) wing to cover it, although not even that is enough and the wrap-around intake stands proud, poking through the lid.

In front of the LS is a Getrag-sourced G50 gearbox and there are some big meats to make use of all that angry Chevy power. All that's wrapped in what's said to be carbon fiber Turbo bodywork, while inside there's Sparco buckets, a skinny-mini 6-point, and aftermarket gauges.

This whole thing together is sort of like if they got Werner Herzog to direct an Expendables movie. The Chevy mill will offend the Porsche purists, while the tramp stamp epithet will do the same for everyone else. It's an equal opportunity offender!

It's also $40,000, and I guess we've learned enough about this car to settle whether that's appropriate price or not. What do you think, is this LS7-equipped 911 worth that kind of cash? Or, is this a Porsche diminished by its mainstream mods?

You decide!

New Haven , or go if the ad disappears.

H/T to Brandon Frechette for the hookup!
