Harley-Davidson Is Recalling More Than 174,000 Motorcycles For Potential Brake Failure-November 2024

Poor isn’t starting off 2018 so hot. In addition to , the company is now reporting a massive U.S. recall that affects potentially 174,636 bikes.

To be fair, only one percent of the bikes are estimated to have the defect, but there is still an awfully high number involved. If the brake fluid isn’t changed every two years like the owner’s manual says it should be, a deposit can start to form on the brake components, reads the . If that happens, the brakes could fail, thus increasing the chances of crashing.

Owners can look out for front brake levers or rear brake pedals feeling “hard” to the push or pull. They can bring their bikes to a dealer and have the entire brake system flushed for free.
