Honda Amaze V CVT Diesel Long Term Report 3

Honda Amaze Action

Let me mention from the onset, that the Honda Amaze has been one of my most favourite long termers. Like I mentioned in the previous reports, it is spacious, extremely fuel efficient and along with that CVT transmission, it is the easiest and most convenient cars to drive. While it was used mostly for the city, I did manage to take it for a leisurely spin which involved some nice highways and some ghats.

So the very steering that feels a tad heavy in the city, feels much better on the highways and while negotiating the twisty’s. No I’m not saying it’s a sportscar but the added weight in the steering does inspire more confidence. While the feedback is pretty much non-existent, the steering is quick and the Honda changes directions quickly. The 175 section tyres though cannot handle any sort of enthusiastic driving and start squealing the moment you start pushing. Relaxed driving is what the Amaze appreciates.

Now coming to the ride quality, this V variant comes with 65 profile, 15-inch tyres which might add a bit of zing to the handling but suffers a little when it comes to ride quality. When the roads aren’t entirely broken, the Amaze is very comfortable. However on broken sections, the thuds do filter in. In fact in the monsoons when Mumbai roads are at their worst, I did manage to cut a tyre on a very bad pothole. Would this have happened on the lower variants 14-inch wheels which sport a little more rubber on the side wall? I wonder. Overall, the ride and handling is a good balance and there is nothing to complain about.

Honda Amaze Action

The Amaze is all set to head back and I cannot be any sadder. The Amaze has been like the perfect companion who just gives and expects nothing in return. The 3 months of hassle free and such easy convenient motoring means the Amaze will leave a big void in the garage.
