Honda Made A Roomba For Your Lawn
Honda Made A Roomba For Your Lawn-December 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:12:24

As my husband and I shop for a house and my man insists that we need a yard of at least two acres that I have little interest in maintaining but like the sound of, I keep thinking how nice it would be to be able to have that beautiful yard without having to do anything myself. Honda’s is the answer to all my problems.

This adorable little robot is basically a Roomba but for mowing the lawn. Like, I legitimately cannot get over how cute it is. It’s made all the better because it’s functional; it’s being listed as able to mow 43,055 sq ft, or just under an acre, and has been marketed as a way to help people with larger plots of land or orchards.

It is literally like a Roomba. Before you use it, you’ll need to set a boundary, which you do with an electric wire that can be buried. After that point, the Miimo can mow without a care in the world, bouncing off of obstacles and maneuvering around until the yard is clear. When it decides it’s running out of battery, it docks itself on its charging base and gets all juiced up for round two.

And yes, you can even schedule it to mow at certain times of the day. You can even set it to run through the night, since it’s electric and doesn’t make a ton of noise that will wake up your neighbors.

That being said, there are limitations. It can’t chop down heavy-duty grass over four inches tall. It can’t climb a hill over 25 degrees. The price of the newer version isn’t available, but the old one still costs $2,500. And I have to wonder how it would perform in adverse weather conditions, like in the rain or when it gets really hot.

You can submit your interest with Honda until April 17, but I have to imagine that this is going to be a Japanese-only product for its debut.

There's Something Oddly Satisfying About This Car Faceplanting Into A Big, Soft Tree
On the whole, car crashes are something you want to avoid in life. A controversial take, I know. But I’ve watched footage of this particular incident out of Connecticut several times now — in which the driver was said to be unhurt, I must stress — and, honestly, this collision...

What The Hell Is A Fratzog And What Is Dodge Doing With It
Those of you may have noticed something interesting when they were talking about Dodge’s plans for a future electric muscle car. A particular design motif, seen in the taillight design, and what looked like an odd, roughly triangular logo. While I suspect some of you may have recognized it,...

Blip: Did You Know This About Bowling Balls
Blip: Did You Know This About Bowling Balls
Sure, I threw a German Ford Taunus in there, but I’m not going to lie: this Blip is about bowling balls. Somehow, I never knew they had complex-shaped, often asymmetrical cores inside, made of dense material, like the one on top of the Taunus there (shown in cutaway). Did...

The New Loki Series Has An Excellent And Unexpected Hero Car
Like many of you, I’ve been watching and have been very impressed with the whole mid-century//Terry Gilliam’s Brazil sort of look to the show. The series has been pretty thin on cars, but that changed with this most recent episode, which featured some really excellent and I think inspired...

How Do We Feel About F1 2021's Driver Ratings?
A few weeks after revealing the , Codemasters has now for all of us to argue over. Once again, I think they’re worth sharing, because as a sports fan there’s nothing more weirdly satisfying than good-natured arguments with other fans about how over- or underrated a particular competitor is,...
