Chinese motorcycle companies continue to make inroads to the US market. Some, like Kove, Voge, and CFMoto, function under their own original brand names. Others, like Moto Morini, apply a historic name, in this case Italian, to its motorcycles. Moto Morini is headquartered in Milan, Italy, and uses Chinese manufacturing of its parent company–Zhongneng Vehicle Group–for production..embed-container { position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.25%; height: 0; overflow: hidden; max-width: 100%; } .embed-container iframe, .embed-container object, .embed-container embed { position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; }Moto Morini was founded in 1937 and made its first motorcycles after World War II. It had its share of peaks and valleys over the decades and In 2018, Moto Morini was acquired by Zhongneng and reborn to produce a new line of motorcycles. The Moto Morini Vettore 450 shares the same platform as the CFMoto Ibex 450, so there are, of course, many similarities: a 449cc parallel twin with a counterbalancer and 270-degree crank, a six-speed transmission, a slipper assist clutch, adjustable KYB suspension, 21-inch front wheel, 18-inch rear wheel, a steel frame, and a rally tower/dash of similar proportions with nearly identical rider aids. Moto Morini differentiates itself at the same $6499 price by providing more features, including a centerstand and larger fuel tank, leading to the Vettore’s heavier wet weight. It also has a slightly larger screen for its TFT display. Before hitting our in-house dynamometer, we weighed Vettore 450, which tipped our electronic scales at 475 pounds wet. On the Cycle World dyno, the 2026 Moto Morini Vettore 450 produced 35 hp at 7600 rpm and 27 ft.-lb. of torque at 6300 rpm. For reference, the CFMoto Ibex 450 produced 37 hp at 8900 rpm and 27.1 ft.-lb.of torque at 5500 rpm on our dyno. Both bikes have similar power curves but yield slightly different results on the dyno. The Vettore offers a little more immediate torque off idle, while the Ibex provides more peak power and over-rev.

A dyno chart comparison between the Vetorre 450 and Ibex 450 is probably not enough to influence a purchase decision; styling, features, dealer networks, availability, and brand identity will likely be the deciding factors. But it’s clear that these two brands with similar products are fighting for the same customer in a segment that has a lot of great options.
