Jonathan Brand always wanted a motorcycle, but life got in the way. So the New York artist did the next, next, next best thing and created his own with CAD, a 3D printer, and 40 pounds of plastic.

two years ago when the Ultimaker was still the quickest 3D printer with the largest build volume. He designed everything in CAD, then sliced it into millimeter thin layers the printer could understand.

Each piece took anywhere between four and 24 hours to create, and Brand stick it together with glue and melted plastic to maintain its transparency. Everything's numbered to make reassembly easier, and while it couldn't withstand the weight of an anorexic mouse sitting on the seat, the wheels turn and the steering works.
