Huge NASCAR Pileup Makes Texas Motor Speedway Look Like Daytona
Huge NASCAR Pileup Makes Texas Motor Speedway Look Like Daytona-March 2024

As is the case with most 1.5-mile tracks on the NASCAR circuit, we don’t head out to Texas Motor Speedway with the expectation that there will be a huge pileup in the field. But, naturally, that norm didn’t prove true today—a total of 12 cars got caught up in a crash with just a handful of laps left in the race.

The incident above came with just 41 laps to go in the Sprint Cup Series’ Duck Commander 500, when the No. 3 of Austin Dillon slid up and across the race track in front of the field. Dillon’s slide managed to collect an extra 11 cars according to the wreck tally, including Brian Vickers, Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth and Paul Menard. Some cars got a better end of the deal than others involved in the wreck, and Johnson’s still out there running in fifth position as of 16 laps to go.

Such a wreck was an odd sight to see at a track that rarely sees a pileup of any size, but it is past midnight local time—perhaps the drivers should all just be in bed by now.

Jeff Gordon's Final Race Goes From Epic To Expletives Almost Immediately
The scene leading up to Jeff Gordon’s final NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race was quite sentimental. Very touching. Then he got in the car, and the typical frustrations—and radio expletives—of racing came right back. (Go ahead and click the microphone in the top-left corner of the video above—the Vine is...

What Are Your Favorite Jeff Gordon Memories?
Even for those who don’t know the slightest about racing, the name “Jeff Gordon” is synonymous with it. He’s the Rainbow Warrior, the Wonder Boy and most importantly, he’s the No. 24.
