Hyundai Cuts Furloughed Federal Workers A Break On Car Payments
Hyundai Cuts Furloughed Federal Workers A Break On Car Payments-August 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:10:07

If you're one of the wondering how you're going to make ends meet until Congress stops acting like children, Hyundai is about to cut you a break on your lease and car payments.

In the latest development on , Hyundai recently announced that they will defer all auto loan and lease payments during the shutdown for current Hyundai owners who are furloughed as an addition to their Hyundai Assurance program. They say furloughed workers will get a relief from payments for as long as they are out of work, and if those employees want to buy a car in October, they will be offered a 90-day payment deferral.

The first U.S. government shutdown in 17 years means more than just scores of federal employees…

Remember, and the height of the recession when they offered payment assistance to owners who lost their jobs in the private and public sectors. That move inspired Ford and GM to do the same thing.

The Carpocalypse has forced automakers to try and entice nervous buyers by offering to remove the…

I say it's a kind move on Hyundai's part, and it's also a brilliant marketing move that helps establish them as a company that looks out for their buyers.

If you don't live in D.C. like I do, it may not be as readily apparent what the shutdown means for everyday people. I have a lot of friends who work for FEMA, the Defense Department, the State Department or other agencies who are now forced to go without pay during this mess. Others have to work without pay. They might get reimbursed whenever the shutdown ends, but in the meantime, they have bills same as you and me and they're trying to make the best of a deplorable situation they didn't ask for. It's more serious than just national parks closing down and an end to the "panda cam."

Meanwhile, in case you're curious, during the shutdown. Hyundai has not announced any incentives for them. I'll update the story if that changes.

For $3,500, Shala Stay or Shala Go?
A Shallow Vet is an animal doc that you’re really not sure you want anywhere near fido. In contrast, today’s Shala Vette is a custom fiberglass buggy by the famous designer Dick Dean, and you need to decide if its price makes it a dog. You know why we don’t...

When it comes to automotive excitement, Toyota usually comes up short. Today’s Corolla wagon however is long on being different, but you’ll still need to decide if its price is short on value. Dang, I’m guessing that a LOT of you watched the Wacky Races when you were a kid...

The Nissan Patrol holds the distinction of being the first vehicle to successfully cross Australia’s brutal Simpson Desert. Similarly, buying today’s ’69 might just cross your mind, that is of course if its price doesn’t make you go d’oh! So it seems yesterday’s was a return visitor to these hallowed...

The 2014 Jeep Cherokee Is Better Than You Think It is
While it can't come close to the Wrangler's iconic status and history, the Cherokee is a Jeep with a real legacy and following. Actually, until they bring back the 'Wagoneer' name, it's Jeep's only other worthwhile name. Compass? Liberty? Who cares. But Cherokee means something, and the live up to...

For $3,500, Are Two Wheels Good?
Kawasaki’s motto used to be that they would let the good times roll. Motorcycles are pretty rare here on , but then this A1SS is even more so. Uncommon or not, you’ll still need to determine if its price makes for a rollin' good time. I have to say up...
