I Didn't Know Why God Put a Manual 2005 Toyota Camry on This Earth, But I Do Know I Need It-November 2024

Amazingly, the Toyota Camry was offered with a manual in America up until the end of 2011.

The car you’re looking at wasn’t the last manual Camry we got here. Not by a long shot. It’s that my coworker Mike Ballaban showed me today (oddly without his usual SELL YOUR VW AND BUY THIS NOW message) was still years away from the death of the three-pedal Camry. The seller is asking $3,500 upstate.

This was, however, the first generation of Camry that Americans could only get the manual on four-cylinders, sadly, but it’s still a remarkably modern, manual midsize family car.

You’re looking at 160 horsepower on this thing with a five speed, though later Camrys would get up to 179 on a six-speed. Weight was a bit over 3,100 pounds for these cars, pretty much what it weighed from the 1990s through the 2000s. Toyota wasn’t changing the Camry much since its 1992 Lexus-ification.

I would normally spend my time at the end of this blog saying how much I miss weird Camrys of yore, but the and Toyota is giving us a TRD trim because crossovers are normal now and sedans must be strange.

I spent a week in a nearly $40,000 2018 Toyota Camry with a red leather interior and 301…

Still, that doesn’t stop me wishing Toyota still sold the Camry with a manual. And a non-electronic handbrake. And 4WD with a locking center differential like you used to be able to get on All-Tracs. But that’s getting away from the point.

Here Are The Leased Cars That Can Make You Some Serious Money
Typically when a consumer leases a car, they won’t be in a position to make money on that agreement. Also, if they want to exit that lease early, it can be very costly. Due to the current madness in the used car market, however, certain leased cars can mean...

Yianni has a Honda Accord coupe that is great, but it doesn’t make for the best family car. He is looking for a wagon to haul kids and stuff, but he wants one with a manual transmission that he can modify into a longroof sleeper. What car should he...

At $20,500, Does This 2008 Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG Aim To Please?
Loathe as we all may be to call any car with four doors a coupe, today’s CLS might just get a pass because it’s so dang pretty. With its AMG V8, it should be pretty quick too, but we’ll have to decide if it’s priced to sell just as...

At $23,900, Could This Viper-Powered 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT-8 Get You To Bite?
The name of today’s Dodge Challenger SRT-8 is a bit of an untruth seeing as it now sports an, albeit incomplete, V10 swap. Let’s just see how true the price on this custom project works out to be. There were two sorts of comments on yesterday’s — those that...

A Dealer Is Asking $65,000 For A Veloster N
It’s time to call out some more dealerships on their markups. This time it’s a Southern California dealership that made it’s way to Reddit, and to us via a tip from friend of the site . The dealership is of Anaheim. I’m very familiar with this dealership. Aside from...

At $17,250, Could You Be Moved To Buy This 2011 Scion xB Mobility Car?
Do you know someone with mobility issues and an aversion to vans? Well, then today’s Scion will be right up their alley. Let’s see what such overcoming of “van-adversity” should rightfully cost. Yesterday, we looked at a that had been swapped from a factory SMG automatic to a six-speed...
