I Didn't Know Why God Put a Manual 2005 Toyota Camry on This Earth, But I Do Know I Need It-April 2024

Amazingly, the Toyota Camry was offered with a manual in America up until the end of 2011.

The car you’re looking at wasn’t the last manual Camry we got here. Not by a long shot. It’s that my coworker Mike Ballaban showed me today (oddly without his usual SELL YOUR VW AND BUY THIS NOW message) was still years away from the death of the three-pedal Camry. The seller is asking $3,500 upstate.

This was, however, the first generation of Camry that Americans could only get the manual on four-cylinders, sadly, but it’s still a remarkably modern, manual midsize family car.

You’re looking at 160 horsepower on this thing with a five speed, though later Camrys would get up to 179 on a six-speed. Weight was a bit over 3,100 pounds for these cars, pretty much what it weighed from the 1990s through the 2000s. Toyota wasn’t changing the Camry much since its 1992 Lexus-ification.

I would normally spend my time at the end of this blog saying how much I miss weird Camrys of yore, but the and Toyota is giving us a TRD trim because crossovers are normal now and sedans must be strange.

I spent a week in a nearly $40,000 2018 Toyota Camry with a red leather interior and 301…

Still, that doesn’t stop me wishing Toyota still sold the Camry with a manual. And a non-electronic handbrake. And 4WD with a locking center differential like you used to be able to get on All-Tracs. But that’s getting away from the point.

Ferrari hasn't been forthcoming lately with the press cars , so we were delighted to get the chance to drive their latest model. Well, sort of. It's a set of hair clippers. And who better to shave off my curly locks than a Ferrari mechanic? Meet the Volare X1. Built...

VW's Type 1 may no longer be the People's Car, but today's Beetle is a car for people who like Subaru motors. It's up to you to determine if its price is people friendly as well. It's little known that before its WWII's military invasion of neighboring countries Germany attempted...

For $2,500, Go To Hellcamino
The concept of an afterlife for sinners filled with suffering and pain is a prime motivator for believers keeping on the straight and narrow. Today's Chevy — audaciously dubbed the Hellcamino - may be seen as sinful, but will its price also appear set by Satan? Based on its 64%...

Today's Mazda B2000 is described by its seller as a True Sleeper. That's because under its unassuming hood there now spins a lusty 13B. The question is, would paying this sleeper's price keep you up at night? I don't know what it is about engine transplants and matte black paint,...

For $3,500, This Bayerische Motoren Needs Some Werke
Jackie Onassis loved driving her , it reportedly being her favorite car. Today's 3.0S was once the top of BMW's lineup here, but will this one's price and condition have you exclaiming Jackie OMG? Former first ladies and pickups aren't something that typically go together, but considering the vastness of...

In what is possibly the most annoying car ad practice, the seller of today's uber modified Saab says he's entertaining offers. Well, la-de-freakin'-da, we're not here for his entertainment, we're here for his judgement. Based on its laudable 61% Nice Price win, it looks like it could easily be someone's...
