Jalopnik Reviews: 2007 Ford Fusion SE, Part 3
Jalopnik Reviews: 2007 Ford Fusion SE, Part 3-November 2024

: Handling, handling, handling, five-speed manual and handling. And while I find the appearance of the Fusion only half-baked, I know there are those out there who think it snazzy looking. The low price and relatively large size are a rarity in today's autodom. A similarly equipped Accord LX costs $2,000 more. The back seats are for real people. Even driving like a rev-happy dummy, the mileage was consistently better than advertised. The Fusion SE really is an outstanding value.

: Where's the beef? 9.3 seconds to get to sixty is not good. While the handling is top shelf, you'll never get going fast enough to exploit the chassis through quick, back-to-back turns. The upmarket SEL's V6 is an old dog. The engine from the Mazdaspeed6 is not an option. Neither is the wagon. It looks like a safety razor. The taillights look like they came off an Accord owned by a 17-year-old Korean kid. The interior makes Honda chuckle with schadenfreude and an Accord is worth the extra $2000. You are a big UAW booster and don't like that the Accord is built here, while the Fusion is hecho en Mexico.

2013 BMW M6 Coupe: The Jalopnik Review
2013 BMW M6 Coupe: The Jalopnik Review
My gripe with BMW has never been about performance. Nor has it been about quality. I have just never connected with the styling, finding their appearance dull and uninspiring. And I'm not a fan of bland. I do not own a beige pair of anything. But there is one BMW...

For $39,000, On Vixen, On Comet And Cupid!
Usually, motor homes are bought by retirees as a way to enjoy their golden years and get away from their damn kids. With today's 455-powered Vixen, you don't have to wait for retirement, but will its price make you want to hold on to your 401K? You'd think that Money...

2013 Ford Fusion: The Jalopnik Review
Jalopnik's own Travis Okulski in New York. He claimed to want to "Make tender but gentle love to it." At the same time Travis was figuratively zipping his pants back up, I was heading out to Santa Monica for sloppy seconds. I would get a chance to drive the Fusion...

For $3,500, Bareback A Squareback
Today's VW Squareback looks a little like Kermit the Frog. That beloved muppet is famous for singing It Isn't Easy Being Green, but will this verde Vee-dub's price make it easy spending the green? You know what happens when you cut out one of a car's major structural elements? That's...

For $3,300, How Soon? Datsun!
They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. If that's the case, the MGB should have been flattered as today's Datsun 1600 is sure like that British bomb. The question is, does this imitator's price make it the real deal? Have you ever noticed that Volkswagen's original was a...

For $10,000, Drop Your Tops And Grab Your Schnapps.
The French engineer, Louis Réard, is credited with the invention of the bikini in 1946. Today's BMW 635CSI prefers to go topless, but would you have to be a boob to pay ten grand for it? Finding a topless 635CSI is about as rare as spotting a member of the...
