Kawasaki's Z125 Grom Competitor Is An Automatic
Kawasaki's Z125 Grom Competitor Is An Automatic-July 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:14:17

Kawasaki released this terrible, I mean amazing teaser video for their Grom competitor, the new Z125, and they’re gonna hit Honda where it hurts: in the clutch.

The Z125 is set to be released in two versions, with the normal version getting an automatic transmission while the Z125 Pro will get a manual.

It will be powered by a 125 cc, single cylinder engine, have a 24 mm throttle body, and get petal type brake rotors at both ends (200 mm front and 184 mm rear). Claimed curb weight is 222 pounds, which is in line with the 225 pound Grom.

The guys over at Kawasaki got so sick of having to wait until the wee hours of the morning to ride…

Like the Grom, the Z125 rolls on 12-inch wheels, but Kawi have opted for a 100/90-12 front and 120/70-12 for the rear instead of copying the Grom’s 120/70-12 front and 130/70-12 rear.

Still no official word on whether we’re getting this in the U.S., but I expect that to change with the Tokyo Motor Show later this week.
