New For The $100,000 2016 Mustang: A Solid Axle
New For The $100,000 2016 Mustang: A Solid Axle-August 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:36

The finally broke into the 21st century last year with standard independent rear suspension. How does Ford up that kind of performance for 2016? They offer an optional solid axle, of course.

It all part of Ford’s drag racing-only package, a comprehensive reworking of the Mustang platform for straight line use. Well, not exactly straight line. The car doesn’t just go forward, it goes up.

Look at how well this thing wheelies.

Now would be a good time for me to point out that the wheelie bar is a $1,995 extra on this $99,990 car, as points out.

Ford expects this car to run in the 8s, just like the equivalent Chevy unveiled yesterday.

Something deep inside me feels very happy seeing solid axles on these cars. I can’t explain why, exactly, but I don’t really need to.
