New Kia Sonet – Safety Paramount

Safety Paramount

With the best-in-class features, quality interiors, and multiple drivetrain options, the Kia Sonet is the most premium compact SUV in its segment. But, despite all the show and flash, safety is insurmountable for Kia. The Kia Sonet comes loaded with an exhaustive list of active and passive safety aids. Here’s a quick look at the paramount safety features of the Kia Sonet.

Robust Underpinnings – The Sonet’s platform incorporates advanced high strength steel in its construction and offers excellent torsional rigidity. It also complies with frontal-offset and side-impact crash tests.

Kia Sonet Driver Side Airbag

Six Airbags – Kia Sonet is one of the few compact SUVs to feature six airbags as a part of its safety net. These include standard dual front airbags, along with side and curtain airbags in higher trims.

ESP – The Sonet GT Line and the automatic trims benefit from the Electric Stability Program, which cuts power on specific wheels when the vehicle gets out of control.

Traction Control – The Kia Sonet comes equipped with traction control which intervenes when one or more wheels loose traction.

Drive & Traction Modes – The Kia Sonet is equipped with three drive modes – Eco, Normal, and Sport. The traction mode includes Snow, Mud, and Sand.

Hill-start Assist – The Sonet also features hill-start assist, which helps with setting the car in motion, when on steep inclines.

Front parking sensors – As a part of the safety suite, the Kia Sonet also features front parking sensors, in addition to the rear parking sensors.

Kia Sonet Wheel

ABS and EBD – Standard safety kit includes anti-lock braking systems and electronics brake-force distribution.

High-speed alert system – This system is standard, and sets off a beep every 30 seconds when the car crosses 80kmph, and beeps continuously once past 120kmph.

Seat-belt reminder – This is the most basic safety kit that retracts the seat belts when you hit something or brake ferociously.

The compressive safety kit ensures all the occupants of the Sonet are safe. No wonder then, that the Kia Sonet is the benchmark in its segment.
