New Nissan GT-R available in South Africa-November 2024
2023-12-14 EST 02:30:54

Known as the supercar-killer, the newNissan GT-R gets an update for 2012 along with number of improvements. There have been significant improvements to the engine, a rear view camera now comes as standard, the handling has been improved as well as a number of other changes.

Less fuel consumption and more power for new Nissan GT-R

Efficiency has not been forgotten though, with the latest model seeing a reduction in fuel consumption and reduced CO2 emissions. The fuel economy clocks in at 11.8 litres/100km making it the most efficient GT-R to date.

The engine output has increased to 397 kW at 6 400 rpm and a max torque of 628 Nm from 3 200 to 5 800 rpm. The engine response has also been improved on at varying speeds thanks to a number of features that include: Improved intake efficiency, better air flow resistance, improved exhaust emissions efficiency as well as exhaust valve cooling performance.

The body of the new Nissan GT-R has also been worked on to improve handling. Certain areas around the engine compartment and dash panel have been reinforced which has improved the responsiveness of the handling and a greater sense of vehicle grip on the road. The suspension has been set to have a harder spring rate on the left side of the front suspension while the rear suspension has seen the suspension arm installed upwards on the left side and downwards on the right. This has resulted in an imbalanced wheel load while the car is stationary but becomes equalized while driving. The responsiveness is improved as well as creating a smooth ride and improved cornering stability.
